Roger Stone is a blindly loyal Donald Trump supporter who values the Republican party above all else. Stone refuses to testify about Trump-Russia connections but Michael Cohen, Michael Flynn and Paul Manafort have been cooperating with Robert Mueller's team of investigators. Hey, three out of four ain't bad!
Flynn has given 'substantial' assistance to the special counsel
CNN, Dec 4 2018 9:04 PM ET
Special counsel Robert Mueller told a federal court today that former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn has given "substantial assistance" to the Russia investigation and should not get jail time. Flynn has sat for 19 interviews with the special counsel and the Justice Department, the filing states. The new details explaining how Flynn has helped the special counsel investigation will ratchet up the pressure on President Donald Trump, who has repeatedly attacked the Mueller probe as a "witch hunt." Mueller's office says Flynn assisted them "on a range of issues, including interactions between individuals in the Presidential transition team and Russia."

I can't help thinking of a line in Shakesperare's Hamlet: "The lady doth protest too much, methinks" -- except Donald Trump is not a lady. He's a whiny, petulant, think-skinned, narcissistic blowhard.
Trump accuses Mueller of 'presidential harassment'
Geobeats, Dec 6 2018 12:17 PM
President Trump today explained why his approval rating is at 50% despite his many accomplishments. "Without the phony Russia Witch Hunt, and with all that we have accomplished in the last almost two years (Tax & Regulation Cuts, Judges, Military, Vets, etc.) my approval rating would be at 75% rather than the 50% just reported by Rasmussen," Trump tweeted. "It’s called Presidential Harassment!"
Conservative-leaning Rasmussen Reports publishes a daily presidential tracking poll. This is not the first time Trump has dismissed special counsel Robert Mueller's probe into Russia’s interference in the 2016 election. On May 1, Trump tweeted: "So disgraceful that the questions concerning the Russian Witch Hunt were 'leaked' to the media. No questions on Collusion. Oh, I see...you have a made up, phony crime, Collusion, that never existed, and an investigation begun with illegally leaked classified information. Nice!"
Trump wrote last month: "Did you ever see an investigation more in search of a crime? At the same time Mueller and the Angry Democrats aren't even looking at the atrocious, and perhaps subversive, crimes that were committed by Crooked Hillary Clinton and the Democrats. A total disgrace!"

Cohen pleaded guilty to eight criminal charges. Then he pleaded guilty to lying to Congress about the time period of negotiations for a proposed Trump Tower in Moscow. Trump accused Cohen of "making up stories" in the hope of getting a lighter sentence. Well, Donald, it looks as though Cohen will not be getting that "lighter sentence."

Michael Cohen told Mueller's office about contacts between Trump aides and Russia
NBC News, Dec 7 2018 3:23 PM
President Donald Trump's former lawyer Michael Cohen has provided significant assistance to special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation, including details about contacts between Trump aides and Russia, according to court documents released today.
Mueller's office said Cohen gave federal investigators "relevant and useful" information about his contacts with people connected to the White House as late as this year, according to a sentencing memo the office filed. The memo says Cohen also offered a detailed account of the effort to build a Trump Tower in Moscow as well as information about Russia-related matters "core to the special counsel investigation" that he obtained from Trump Organization executives.
On November 29, Cohen pleaded guilty to a charge brought by the special counsel's office that he lied to Congress to cover up efforts during the presidential campaign to build a Trump Tower in Moscow. The surprise plea marked the first time that Trump and his private business dealings were named in open court as part of Mueller's probe of Russian election interference and possible ties to the Trump campaign.
In his plea, Cohen copped to falsely claiming that talks related to the Moscow real estate project ended in January 2016, a month before the Iowa caucuses, when in fact the discussions carried on into June of that year. Cohen said the President and his family members were privy to the negotiations. He also admitted to communicating with Russian government officials about the deal.
In an unrelated case brought by Manhattan prosecutors, Cohen pleaded guilty to eight federal charges — six counts related to his personal finances and two related to campaign finance violations involving hush money payments to two women who said they had affairs with Trump. Cohen told a court in August that Trump directed him to make payments to porn actress Stormy Daniels and former Playboy model Karen McDougal, in order to secure their silence on the alleged affairs ahead of the presidential campaign.

Conway: Cohen documents show Trump allegedly broke law
Newsweek, Dec 8 2018
George Conway, a prominent conservative lawyer and husband of White House counselor Kellyanne Conway, has mocked President Donald Trump's claim that sentencing documents filed in the prosecution of his former attorney Michael Cohen "totally" clear the President.
"Except for that little part where the US Attorney's Office says you directed and coordinated with Cohen to commit two felonies," Conway wrote in response to Trump. "Other than that, totally scot-free."
In August, Cohen pleaded guilty in New York to arranging payouts to adult entertainer Stephanie Clifford, also known as Stormy Daniels, and former Playboy model Karen McDougal, on Trump's orders. The women claimed they had had affairs with Trump and prosecutors now say the payouts were made to silence them ahead of the 2016 presidential election in violation of campaign finance laws.
In Friday's court filing, the Justice Department threw its weight behind Cohen's claim he was acting on Trump's orders, claiming the payments were made in "coordination with and the direction of" Trump.
Conway joined other experts in claiming the documents show investigators believe Trump broke the law. "This is the first time the government has alleged in its own voice that President Trump is personally involved in what it considers to be federal offenses," tweeted US politics professor Daniel Drezner, in a message shared by Conway.

Today the orange-skinned parrot once again squawked that it's "time for the Witch Hunt to END." He also attacked Hilary Clinton yet again and he denies directing Michael Cohen to make hush-money payments to Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal. Do we believe Cohen, who spent more than 70 hours in interviews with Mueller's investigators -- or do we believe Trump, who has made 6,420 false and/or misleading claims since he's been in office? I vote for Cohen. ( https://www.washingtonpost.com/graph...=.a7c2ef1bc2f7 )

Two new reports prepared for the Senate Intelligence Committee by independent researchers were released today. They reveal that Russia wanted Trump to defeat Clinton in 2016 -- no surprise there -- and Russia tried to turn black Democratic voters against Clinton by spreading false claims that she was resorting to fraud to win the election and militias were attempting to stop her.
Russia's use of US social media was also much more widespread than we thought. Russians created thousands of fake accounts and spread lies and propaganda on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Reddit, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, Vine, Google+ and other sites. Is there any reason to think Russia won't be doing the same in 2020?

Once the Russian trolls succeeded in getting their man in the White House, they turned their attention to Robert Mueller, calling him "corrupt" and "incompetent" and saying he worked with radical Islamists. They denounced the idea of Russian election meddling as a "crackpot theory" and called for Mueller to be fired for his "fake investigation." The Russians were fearful that we would learn about all their fake accounts and their pro-Trump, anti-Clinton propaganda. We did learn -- and now we have a President who continually attacks Mueller and the Russia investigation. The Russians must be proud of their man in the White House.

Mueller grand jury extended for up to 6 months
CNN, Jan 4 2019 4:22 PM ET
Special counsel Robert Mueller's federal grand jury has been extended for up to six months. The grand jury, based in Washington, DC, was seated for an 18-month term that began in July 2017 and was set to expire in the coming days. Under federal rules, the court is able to extend a grand jury's term for another six months if it is "in the public interest." Chief Judge Beryl Howell of the DC District Court, who oversees the Mueller grand jury, granted the extension. She does not sit in on its sessions.
