Channel not subscribed message

Last month my wife had a problem with the Sirius XM in her '13 Escape. It would only display "channel not subscribed." Sirius customer service could not make it work even though our subscription was current. They then claimed it was a Ford problem. About a week later the same thing happened in my '15 Escape. When I contacted the Sirius support team I was told it was a satellite issue in certain areas that they knew about but were working hard to fix. After about a week I was just randomly pushing radio buttons and Sirius started to work. The button that "fixed" the problem was a "function" button located to the lower right corner of the radio controls. I contacted my wife later that day, who was 250 miles away, and when she pushed that same button the Sirius worked properly, and has ever since.
