onyx plus radio unsubscribing

I have had an Onyx plus radio in my car for over a year and never had a problem. I was putting a beach chair in my trunk and caught the satellite antenna cord, severing it. Bought a new antenna from Sirius. After installing the new antenna, every time I turn the car off the radio unsubscribes. I turn the car on and get "unsubscribed station" and it starts playing the preview channel. If I call and refresh signal, it works fine again.... Till I turn the car off.
I have contacted several layers of support of xm, from india to US. Last one told me the radio is not initiating signal and needs to be replaced.
Anyone else with this issue? Any suggestions? Sick of dealing with the foreign customer service reps.
