Finally: Sirius XM Offers Cross Platform Multi-subscription Discounts
Almost immediately after Sirius and XM merged over three years ago, fans and friends alike began to call, email, post comments, and ask the question in the forum – when will I be able to get a multi-subscription discount for my Sirius and XM radios? Unfortunately, I have had to say “I don’t know” more times than I care to remember.
I am happy to finally say, the fine folks at Sirius XM customer care will in fact give those who have both Sirius and XM accounts the same multi-subscription discount afforded to those who have multiple accounts on the same platform.
After a bit of poking and prodding on Facebook a very nice customer care rep told me all I had to do was provide both accounts and they would be happy to apply the discount. When I asked if this was now available to everyone, they pointed me to a support center answer they had specifically setup for just this issue. I don’t know exactly when the page was created but, the details are as follows…
Q: I’m already a subscriber. Do I get a discount on additional subscriptions?
A: Yes. You can get a discount on additional subscriptions. Multi-subscription discounts start at a base price of $9.99 per month for the Select package, which is a 30% savings.
If you are on different platforms, call SiriusXM at 866-635-2349 to receive a cross platform discount.
The rumor kicking around Sirius XM is that there should be some kind of unified billing system to make the whole process a little bit easier by the end of 2012. For the time being, I’m just happy there is going to be some long awaited satisfaction for their loyal customers.
I called yesterday to cancel service for my Stiletto 2 that broke. I still have an active Sirius and an active XM remaining.
When calling the automated system knew that i had 1 XM and 2 SIRI. Now if the automated system knew that, why then would i have to call to get the discount? Why not just give me the discount? Seems they’re just setting themselves up for a lawsuit.
So Howard is correct they are one company!!!!
I’m on the phone with them right now, and the discount only applies if you sign up for a one year subscription. Kind of bs but it is still cheaper in the long run.
Just bought a new radio & boombox to replace my old Sportster that just died. I wanted a Sirius radio because my Ford Edge has Sirius and the old radio was as well but unfortunately the guy at Best Buys said my new Edge Radio was Sirius when in fact it was actually XM. (**Side note, if you purchase something from Best Buys be sure to check Amazon.com for the product before going to the register. I got $60 off this purchase & just over $100 off my digital camera) When I was told on the phone that I had to pay seperately I asked “what about my multi discount”. He was more than happy to give me the discount only like “Steve” said I had to pay a year in advance with a credit card that would be renewed automatically. I pay monthly on my Sirius and have for over 5 yrs now, but if I pay what I can afford I do not get the discount. I agree, it is BS.
Ford is only Sirius not XM. Their 2013 and above have SiriusXm but anything older is Sirius. Ford has never used XM.
I just called tonight got someone who could not speak English and she told me you can’t combine both Sirius xm I am going to cancel my Sirius witch I’ve had one year befor Howard came when Howard is done
You have so many choices now that you did not have befor
What do you mean by “combine?”
