Bill Mack Makes Triumphant Return To Sirius XM – Maybe
The rumor mill started churning over the past couple of weeks regarding the return of the ever popular Bill Mack to Sirius XM Satellite Radio (NASDAQ:SIRI). There was even a special birthday wish to Bill Mack dated June 4th on the Willie’s Roadhouse Facebook page that promised “Big News Coming Soon.” Everyone was set for a triumphant return beginning June 13th, but the Bill Mack Show never materialized on Sirius XM.
So is Bill Mack coming Back?
The answer to that burning question is still just out of reach, but one would think that with the Facebook teaser something is in the works. Bill Mack is likely one of the more recognized voices in Country radio and has been sorely missed ever since his untimely departure from Sirius XM over a year ago. In fact, the article here announcing his departure has been one of the most widely read and commented on articles in recent memory. Not a week goes by without a new comment on the article.
One thing is certain. I think that Sirius XM got the message. Subscribers want their Bill Mack and Cindy! People pay for satellite radio to enjoy premium talent and premium content. The separation of Sirius XM and Bill Mack was a black eye on the service over the past year. There is still no official news, but typically where there is smoke there is fire! Odds are that Mack will be returning soon!
For fans of other channels and shows that have left Sirius XM the lesson is clear. Get active and get vocal. The company may get your message as well. Perhaps BBC Radio 1 has a chance at coming back full time as well. At least for Country music fans we seem to have a content victory on our hands.
Anyone who can work for free is welcome.
Bill Mack is why i got my 1st Sat radio, years ago.
If Bill is willing to come back, XM-Sirius should jump at this chance.
ATTENTION,SIRIUS/XM:
That’s reason I’m leaving this comment. I was THRILLED TO death when I thought Bill Mack was coming back to SIRIUS/XM irrespective of what time it was. I have missed him and Ms. Cindy so much. Nothing against Dallas Wayne, love his show.
Letting him go was one of your programming department’s biggest mistakes ever!
Bill Mack show was by far the most interesting part of willie’s place . With loads of information on the older country stars plus lots of humer . It seems now we just have to listen to the same songs over and over , not putting Dallas Wayne down but willie’s place is not the same without bill Mack !!!
Jim you hit the nail on the head. While Dallas Wayne is a nice guy, plays lots of (nice) music. Bill Mack is in a league all by himself. Wayne will not give the background Bill will, why, Mack’s knowledge is so much greater than Wayne’s. Simple. XM/Sirius NEEDS Bill Mack back, today. So do i, a lifetime subscriber.
When will Bill Mack be back on the air.
I heard one brief clip on XM Radio that Bill is coming back on air but I have not heard anything since.
I believe they said he was to have a late night show and that perhaps he would have a “Willie Wednesday” section but but I cant find anything more. XM/Sirius is a real pain to when it comes to giving out info.
I just renewed my sub to xm only because i’m still hoping Bill Mack will return soon
If they don’t get him back soon, I’m stopping my subscription
If they do not get Bill Mack soon I amm also cancelling XM. I cannot take Dallas Wayne any longer.
Yes, lets get it done. Bill Mack has the best information about all the stars both gone and still with us making good traditional country music. I used to think how can we be so lucky to have Bill and Cindy telling us the good stuff of things gone by, and then having the stars calling in and talking like everyday folks. Miss them, quit wasting precious time.
Right on Steve. I have wondered from the time Bill and Cindy left, why would this happen. Does XM/Sirius not have someone there who is knowledgeable on Country music? Is there something we do not see? Would be nice to have XM at least give us an answer as to why Bill and Cindy are not on air.
The main reason Isubsribe to xm radio is to hear Bill Mack.
If he is not back on xm by renewl time for me, I WILL NOT RENEW
I love listening to Bill as he talks to not only yesterdays stars, but the musicians and songwriters as well. He is vintage radio and a piece of Americana that was lost the day his show was cancelled. We lost Paul Harvey, Casey Kasem, and Bill was all we had left..please let America have one classic as long as its available,,Bring Bill back….Troy Gandy
I have repeatedly heard Bill Mack was returning; however, today after spending more than 30 minutes online with XM radio, the CSR stated basically, she could find all kinds of references indicating his return but could find no channel or programming information to confirm. While I hope he does return, I am considering cancelling enrollment until verification of his return. My mother’s radio was purchased solely for her enjoyment of Bill Mack and is now rarely turned on. Though she says Willie’s Roadhouse is good, it is just not the same and does not have the “life” it had during Bill Mack’s days.
When we purchased our new car, it had the greatest added feature, Sirius radio. We asked them to set the dial on Country Music and low and behold it was on the Bill Mack on Willie’s Roadhouse!! We then took a trip to Arizona and listened to him all the way out and back!! Called once and requested a song along the way, and they played it just for us. His knowledge of country music and it’s performers is outstanding. It was always a special treat to listen to him visit with such stars as Willie Nelson (wherever he may be), Ray Price or anyone that may just drop in. I have never turned the radio dial back to ordinary programming since. Sirius and Willie’s Roadhouse with Bill Mack is the best. Please bite the bullet and put Bill Mack back on Willie’s Roadhouse, he’s irreplaceable!!!!
Many thanks,
Karen
I consider myself quite knowledgeable abut country music, but Bill is an walking encyclopedia on that subject. Not only do I miss hearing things from him that I did not know. His show was not only a great source of information, he showcased the out of the-lime-light legends who still perform real country so well, he also aired and encouraged the new comers devoted to keeping real country alive. I sorely miss his telephone and studio conversations with the entertainers. He doesn’t have to get a biographical outline of questions to ask – he knows them! He speaks their language and has “been there, done that”. He is also a great entertainer and song writer. He and Sweet Cindy are like next door neighbors, down-to-earth, friendly, caring and loyal Americans and good Christians. I miss Bill and his friends and family. I don’t listen to the station much anymore; I hear the some singers and songs over and over and they are great. However there are a lot more great ones and Bill made sure we got to enjoy them also.
Bill Mack is part of the bedrock of what XM Radio had for the trucking radio content. Also Dale Sommers “The Trucking Bozo” was part ot that structure. Bill Mack and the Boz set the tone for what I listened to. I do not care for the “urban tone” of the Road Dog. I do not want to listen to celebrites push their agenda or career. I want to listen to more drivers and issues as put forward by Bill Mack. Unfortunately Dale Sommers is not with us but it will be a mistake if Sirius if they do not bring back a star like Bill Mack. Thank You
I’m still waiting for the return of Bill Mack. I like classic country along with any good music. Since Bill Mack left, I listen to Willie’s Road House but a lot less than I did when Bill was on I now listen to40’s or 4 or Seriusly Senatra
most of the time. I like Dallas Wayne and the other hosts, but I keep hearing the same songs over and over and it seems like in the same order. The wit is gone, the great phone interviews and live performances are gone and Sweet Cindy is gone. In other words: The heart and sole of XM and country music is no more. How Sad!!!
I am not sure I will keep satellite radio since the main reason I subscribed was to hear the Bill Mack Show.
Bill
Still waiting for the return of Bill Mack and Sweet Cindy but getting tired. If I am going to listen to mundane diatribe and the same old music, I may as well listen to commercials tool. NPR has some pretty good ole’ time country music on evenings where I can get my fix for a lot less money.
We want Bill Mack.
Ws still miss bill Mack. He was our traveling companion radio voice. Get him back whatever it takes.
John i am with you.
I do not see where Bill or Cindy, or any one else (Like Willie) has said anything on a return not only to XM, but anywhere. Maybe they (Bill & Cindy) felt it was just time.
Lot’s of Drivers miss them, some do not even know.
I jumped into my car yesterday, punched the button for the only station I listen too, and thought I’d died and gone to Heaven. I heard a familiar voice saying “my boy, my boy”. I could not think of a better Christmas present. Yep, it was my treasured friends, Bill and Sweet Cindy.I won’t cancel my subscription if they are back for good.
I wish you would put Bill Mack back on, taking him off was a stupid thing to do. He is one of the best.
Still missing Bill Mack and Ms Cindy, always loved the show!!!
would like to see the show return, enjoyed the call in guest, and stories about the country music bus, and history and all the laughs. will cancel my sub. when up in nov. i got xm because of this show and shows like it. top 40 radio plays the same stuff over and over. now willys, plays the same old stuff over and over
I really miss the sunday show that Bill put on. I can’t find anything like it anywhere any more. Really miss him.
I started listening to Bill Mack back in the early 70’s, endured thousands of hours of static on my AM radio to listen to his stories. I was so pleased to hear his voice again on my XM radio. I was truly saddened the day he was no longer on my radio. Please put Bill and Cindy back on the air. They added so much to the appreciation of country music. They are irreplaceable. I considered dropping the radio subscription because of their removal, but you still had Dave Nemo, and Dave Ramsey.
I did have 5 radios for my family, down to 3,and considering dropping them all. You need Bill Mack,or the equivelant.
We spend more time trying to miss Howard Stern, and Opie, and Dopey, and Ellen the Degenerate, these programs are junk, and not fit for a family to listen to.
Would appreciate a reply.
Thanks.
Im a truck driver an in the past i have always enjoyed the bill mack show an it made my day. With out the show my day seemed to be missing something. My Main reason for having satilette raido is still in hopes to hear Bill Mack an Sweet Cindy An Of Course Truman. I have also talked to many other truck drivers that wish for the come back of the Bill Mack show. It also makes the miles go much better down the highway. Bill Mack seems to be a great friend even though i have never met him. Please find a way to help bring him back to the air. Your Help would be appreciated. Thanks, Ed Shaw

When I first got my XM Radio Bill Mack & Cindy & The Trucking Bozo were my 2 favorite shows! I was saddened when Bozo died a few years ago. I hope you will bring Bill Mack back on!
