You Can Now Listen to SiriusXM For Free!
Starting today SiriusXM is turning on all inactive radios across the country while also giving users free access to both their mobile and online apps!
You have SiriusXM radio in your dashboard? Free. You have an old plug and play radio lying around? Free. You’re sitting at a computer wishing you had some entertainment at work? Free. You’re on the go and have been dying to try that mobile app out? FREE!
The free 14 day previews will include 60 channels of commercial-free music, sports, news, and talk for satellite listeners and over 150 channels for those of you looking to listen on your smartphone or online.
If you have an existing radio all you have to do is turn it on and tune in. If you’d like to take advantage of the internet or smartphone app you can sign up with no pesky credit card required – it literally takes 30 seconds to sign up.
Unfortunately, as always, there will be no heavy explicit content the likes of Howard Stern and O&A, or even any comedy channels outside of “Family Comedy” available through the satellite feed BUT, you will find all of that raunchy goodness on the internet and mobile feed this time around.
Remember folks, what you’ll hear through your radio is just a sample of the channels which are available once you become a subscriber so, take the time to poke around the mobile and internet app for a taste of the full experience – why not? It’s free!
Keep on writing Charles…straight to the point! SXM is also sending out 3 month free trials to non-active radios…got one in the mail for my wife’s 2005 VW convertible! Making a pretty strong push for self-pay subs! Now…if they can just get this out to non-subscribers that would be awesome!!!

Cool… i just pulled out my OLD skyfi2… and it works!
Too bad they excluded ch 30 (the loft).
I thought the loft was a pretty popular channel or maybe it is because this radio is so old. channels 97 to 106 and 116 to 120 are gone too.
The Loft is a alive and well for subscribers and can even be found on the free internet and mobile preview it is just not included in the free satellite preview.
The 60 channel XM preview lineup can be found here https://www.siriusxm.com/listen6
thanks!
How strong is the 3.25$ resistance?
You might want to ask that question in the forums or consider joining Siriusbuzz Premium — as far as this post goes, it is off topic and unlikely to be answered.
Thank you!
thats un fortunate. i remember when this site was great for good info but now everyone expects everyone to pay for preimum content. oh well
The decision was tough for us but running this website for free was no longer an option financially — we wish it was.
Also, it should be noted, Spencer is now writing articles on the equity 5-10+ times per week. Its not the same old stuff with a fee attached to it.
Simple answer: Do people who get things handed to them appreciate what they get? Seems like gratitude isn’t as fun as having an attitude for some people!
When will this be done again??(all inactive radios be turned on i mean)thanks
We don’t get any advanced notice from SiriusXM but, if/when it happens again we will post/tweet about it.
Not free. I just signed up and its asking for a credit card…..so now my sign up doesn’t even count.
I had an 80s station on my rental car I loved. Reality. I have a crap car and no option to update (wiring harnesses on old Pontiac nulls any opportunity to upgrade). I am not a heavy listener-no time and would have to stream through my pc at work about 5 hours a week. Is there a category for me? My phone charges by data usage so unless on someone’s network, not an option. Too paranoid to trust phone keeping to the network.
