I have bought this product two days ago and I cant rave about it enough. It set up within minutes. I run Pandora, I entered local stations with ease. My stereo was for the most part unused due to the fact that I didnt want to keep running back and forth and grab the next CD or I was tired of advertising. I am an audiophile and it sounds GREAT in my stereo (crisp/clear) which was a major concern. This has solved it all! I find the remove VERY useful friendly. Like all new products there is a slight learning curve (mostly finding where things are and how to costumize it to your own taste). I cannot endorse this product enough.

I have had the Squeezebox Duet for a few days now and I absolutely love it! Music stations from all over the world, not to mention I get all of my favorite Sirius channels and all music libraries stored on my computer. I hooked it up, configured the wireless settings, downloaded software and had it running in less than 15 minutes. If you're on a budget, this is the best way to go and do shop around for prices. I got mine for $309 new through Amazon and I do plan to add more receivers as my budget allows.

Wow, the product connects to all the satellite networks, and it looks simple to use! Definately a winner.

Thanks for the review, this is the first place I heard about the Squeezebox. I'm sure it will be plastered all over the magazines soon enough.

Daniel....

I can not speak from personal experience about the Sonos product because I have only seen a brief demonstration of the device.

That being said, consider this:

Both allow you to set up multiple rooms.

Both controllers allow you to select and play music, etc.

The squeezebox controller is smaller and can be used with one hand. The Sonos controller is a bit bigger, and has a bigger screen.

Both systems are classy and will compliment many interiors.

In my opinion, the Squeezebox is more budget friendly. The Squeezebox Duet gets you rolling for $399. Crutchfield carries the Sonos "First Room of Music" package for just under $750. Thus, with the Squeezebox Duet, you could spend $399 for the first room, add two more receivers at $150 each and have three rooms with music for under $700. This still leaves you with $50 for dinner at Longhorn Steakhouse when compared to Sonos.

From what I know of Sonos it is a nice product. I was impressed with my brief introduction to it, but have not had any luck getting a unit to review in a "hands-on" manner.

The folks at Logitech (maker of the Squeezebox Duet) have been great to work with, and very responsive.

I have no issue at all giving the Squeezebox Duet my endorsement.

How does this product compare to the Sonos product? I am in the process of buidling a new house and would like to be able to play Sirius in multiple rooms.

The remote is the control center for playing the music through your stereo, desktop radio, speakers, etc.

You connect the receiver unit to a stereo, and you can use more than one receiver unit.

No access to XM Online

You can access I-tunes with the optional SqueezeCenter software. The software is free.

It is a gateway to the music on your computer or music stored on the net.

This device appears to have some additional goodies that are not used as yet. For example, a headphone jack, etc.

The squeezebox is "ready to grow"

Wow, that was a heck of a review.

Is the remote what plays the music or do you have to have it connected to a sterio system? Difficult to tell.

Does it have access to XM online?
Does it access itunes?
Does it store music as well, or is it just a gateway? Basically what I am asking is can it be used as a portable device as well?
