SiriusXM Wants You to Listen FREE for Two Weeks
Starting yesterday until February 10th SiriusXM will be turning on all inactive radios for a 14 day free trial.
If you have a satellite option in your vehicle or an old plug and play lying around all you have to do is turn it on and enjoy. If you have internet access or a smartphone, all you have to do is fill out a quick form and sign on.
Why did we wait until today to let you know if the promo started yesterday? Because we had no idea! Like the last free trial period, there was no press release or word from the company concerning the promotion.
The company is counting on people who have stumbled across this somewhat hidden promo on the SiriusXM website and maybe the smart readers of SiriusBuzz to get the word out. Now be a good little minion and like, share, and tweet this article to all of your friends.
Check out the 60 channel lineup [PDF] -- try not to be sad about the lack of explicit content.
What do you think the company can do to improve on these limited lineup two week promotions? Sound off in the comments below.
They could start by ADVERTISING these promotions, instead of keeping it a secret! Marketing is as stagnant now as it was under the helm of Mel K, which is beyond pathetic. It’s as if they (management) want to do everything in their power to cripple this company. If Meyer and his cohorts asserted themselves even a little bit, instead of being in perpetual passive/aloof mode, perhaps they could snap out of their coma and start running this company like someone gives a damn.
My Sirius hasn’t been activated. Not sure why. Oh well.
What kind of radio do you have?
I have a 2013 Mustang and it has a “Sirius” button. Whenever I press it, it says “No Sat Radio.”
Just because you have a button doesn’t mean you have the tuner. Is your car satellite ready or is the SiriusXM tuner actually in it? Know what I mean?
“No Sat Radio” would lead me to believe… you don’t have a satellite radio in the car. If you did, it would tune into a channel telling you how to subscribe.
Price for 60 channels. I’m already a customer
When I feel out the free trial form I get get campaign is invalid or expired. ??
They are working on it.
My wife’s Sirius ran out and they’ve been trying for months to get us back. At the end of last year they ran all those stupid commercials were the goofy DJ says he’s “turning it on for free” but it never turned on in her car. And now they’re running it again and still nothing. It obviously doesn’t work for everyone. If your going to run the ads…make it work.
Just as an FYI: if you have a satellite-radio enabled vehicle and you turn to the satellite band (Sirius or XM, whicever you have) while the Free Listening Period is happening and DO NOT hear anything, you likely just need a signal refresher. Sit in your car with the radio on the Preview channel and have a clear view of the sky. Dial 855-MY-REFRESH and enter your Radio ID or ESN. Wait aout 5 minutes, and BAM! Free channels.
Mine isn’t working at all. I called Sirius and they said many vehicles with built-in Sirius radio are not compatible with free listening.
Mine is on and works great!!! Thanks.
If they would improve the audio quality, I would come back. I love the variety. But can’t stand the quality of the audio. It sounds like the compressed audio files (ie:96kb) you would sometimes download back in the day. FM sounds 10 times better, and so do my mp3’s. So I can deal with those until there is something better.
