leagueofrural.JPGThe League of Rural Voters have released a new analysis that draws clear differences between the broadcast satellite market in the 2002 and the attempted Echostar/DirecTV merger, and the expanding, competitive audio entertainment market in the SIRIUS/XM merger.

The recently released paper goes to great lengths to draw distinct lines between the differences in the two proposed mergers and do so quite well. From what I have read they seem to pose a pretty solid argument. It will be interesting to see how the NAB tries to debunk what seems to be commons sense here. One can only wonder if we are in store for another “this defies logic” statement, much like we heard in response to the Hazlett report.
