SiriusBuzz Takes Satellite Radio To A New Level
SiriusBuzz is proud to announce some sweeping changes that will be happening on this site. For years, I have written under the pen name Tyler Savery and have covered satellite radio from an investors as well as a consumers perspective. SiriusBuzz has always been more concentrated on detailed reporting of the equity side of satellite radio. Today that changes.
We have decided to shift our focus from equity based writing and put our efforts into catering to the over 18 million satellite radio consumers. Satellite radio is an awesome concept and will continue to grow, and we want to broaden our horizons to meet that audience. As satellite radio growth happens, these consumers will need a place that gives them all of the news and information about the medium. Satellite radio offers more content and choice virtually any other platform, and with the new concentration on Sirius XM Internet Radio, the choices and content could become even more impressive. Perhaps for many there is an overwhelming amount of choice. So much so that great content and great features get lost to the consumer because they are simply not addressed in a meaningful way that resonates with the average radio listener. This is where SiriusBuzz will create value for consumers. Articles about the content, reviews of products, and digging deeper into what the satellite radio culture is will be the foundation of a great consumer site dedicated to satellite radio.
As part of this transformation we will be making a few additional announcements in the coming weeks that give satellite radio consumers an even greater level of coverage and information.
Some that follow the equity (SIRI) may be disappointed in this decision, but rest assured, the information you will see on SiriusBuzz will help the medium prosper by covering all of the great qualities of satellite radio. The pen name Tyler Savery is being retired, but my passion for understanding the equity side of the business still exists. I will be consulting on the equity side of satellite radio for select clients. More details on this will become available in the near future, but if you are interested in getting that information first please send an email to [email protected]. In the meantime the SiriusBuzz forums, which include equity based categories, will maintain discussions on satellite radio as well as other equities.
SiriusBuzz Radio will continue to be a staple feature of this site and SiriusBuzz brand. Watch for radio shows to resume shortly, with an all new consumer based show. We are excited about the shift of focus to the consumer. Satellite radio is a passion of ours, and we want to make every effort to give consumers the same great coverage that the equity side has had for so long on this site.
Position – Long Sirius XM Radio
I always THOUGHT you looked like a “Spencer”. Ha!
You do realize that a HUGE % of those 18.5 million subscribers are also investors?
Just sayin’
Plus the Sirius Website itself is pretty well laid out and informative about upcoming events and content.
Be that as it may….I am sure you’ll have lots to write about.
I just feel that you shouldn’t just stop writing about the equity side either since it is so immeshed into the fabric of what makes up the majority of Sirius subs out there.
You’ve always been spot on with your analysis. I’m still trying to figure out how 2 price increases and a reduction in services have been good for the customer as you predicted.
Reduction in service? I think the service has gotten better. And since the new satellite went up, I haven’t lost the signal once.
I think Tyler… I mean Spencer gave solid level headed analysis.
I’m just bummed that he won’t be covering the equity anymore. THAT is the whole reason for coming here. I wish him luck, but the site just won’t have the same energy without covering the stock. I’d bet nearly 100% of the readers were Sirius stock holders as well. The two go hand in hand. It is one of the few companies whose customers LOVE the product so much, they bought the stock.
I think there is plenty to talk about programing and product wise….but like I said, the Sirius and XM webpages already do a great job of highlighting upcoming programing events.
Product highlights will be cool tho. I am sure the “new” Buzz will attract some traffic. It just won’t be the same without equity coverage.
C’est la vie.
Better my ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Try listening to “RawDog” when you’re stuck in traffic at 5PM eastern time. With XMComedy you got TOP NOTCH comedy 100% of the time during rush hour. “RawDog” at 5 PM eastern has some no-name goober talking on & on & on about either his personal comedy routine or a variation of Dr. Phil.
Then switch to “Blue Collar” in frustration. Odds are you will hear 75% of the same stuff you heard during the morning commute.
Then to top it off on the so-called “commercial free” channels, you’ve got a bunch of Gomers yakking WAY TOO DAMN MUCH.
You call that better????
As an XM subscriber since Feb 2002 and Sirius stockholder since Jan 07 the quality of SatRad has takne a NOSEDIVE since Mel & his minions took over.
No wonder the stock is in the shitter as it deserves to be.
Waaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!
Not being sarcastic in the Artie way.
April fools? I hope. This is a terrible decision. Just make a separate part of the website for consumers.
Tyler ,
Just don’t turn this place into Orbitcast ! Remember that if you put the emphasis on programming and coming events and such it is something that can be gotten a myriad of other sites . I don’t have a problem at all with you expanding the sites horizons but don’t lose the investor news and analytical articles . It is what makes this site more unique for the Sirius investor !
Oh by the way I kicked the lung cancers ass bro !!! All natural , all the way !!! Not a tumor left !!!
Take care my brother ,
I agree with Eduardo…

WOW BEEN READING THIS SITE FOR YEARS BUT I TRUST WHAT YOU HAVE IN MIND WE BE SUPERB AND TRULLY NEEDED!!!!! I WILL STAY NO MATTER WHAT! WILL THE SITE NAME BE THE SAME?
I guess viewership is down, so a change is “needed”. Also there is less activity on the stock news front, so there is not much to write about. From that perspective, the move is warranted.
But the strange thing is that you are retiring the name and “consulting on the equity side of satellite radio for select clients”. In effect, you are saying that you will not be posting much analyzed news concerning Sirius XM. Fair enough…
But, you should at least tell us why. Is it because it takes too long to write the informative articles and you have better things to do? Is it because you think nobody cares? Is it because you are just tired of it all?
Clearly you “could” have introduced a consumer spin while still keeping the occasional “Tyler Post” but you have decided not to. Something is up… I don’t know what, but something is definitely up.
Mario….
Site traffic has remained steady.
You can see some of my reasoning in the SiriusBuzz forums.
TYLER,
This has been my homepage for YEARS!!!!! I am shocked by this change, obviously Mario is correct SOMETHING IS UP!! I will continue to keep as my home page, I have confidence in both you and SB!!
Great, could you start by telling us what the hell happened to the Big 10 stations on XM? Thanks.
My guess would be that this has something to do with Brandon Matthews and his SatWaves site. Brandon and his crew do not write well but they do write often. My guess is that they has captured a big slice of the equity audience that used to go to SiriusBuzz.
Traffic at SiriusBuzz has remained at a steady clip, and SiriusBuzz is among the top ranked sites dealing with satellite radio.
Most readers of satellite radio information visit multiple sites.
I knew Sumthing had changed……………I never left, was just tired of arguments and ‘stuff’………….
THE DOC
OMG, another Brandon incident.
I think your new format could serve us all very well. It also could bring in some people that are still wondering what Sat. Radio is all about. Someone needs to educate the public on all the great features and up coming new ideas and products from this company. It may be refreshing to go to a site w/o the childish bickering that comes from the passion of the race and want of the dollar. If you can get some interest from outsiders you serve the insiders well.
When will Charles LaRoaches’ real name be revealed? You should have a contest to see who can guess his actual name.
Lol…
Charles’ real name is charles
Its pretty easy to verify my name http://whois.net/whois/siriusb.....uzz.com
I remember once during the radio show you challenged a caller to look up where you lived via whois to show you weren’t making a fortune on the site. That was a classic comeback.
I never considered Spensers real name much of a secret since the whois on “Satellite Standard” had him listed as the owner. Never hear of a Mangosteen before then either
that should be:
I never heard of a Mangosteen before then either
if you lose the analysis, then you lose my traffic. As another person commented above … don’t turn this into orbitcast!
Agree 100% with what brian said.
Siriuslove…
Thank you for taking the time to express your opinion. My name is spencer tyler osborne. Savery is a family name. I think you would be shocked at how many writers use pen names.
As to my use of a pen name being a challenge to my honesty and credibility…sorry, no realistic person with common sense would agree with you. That however is what makes this country great. Even people with the most outlandish opinions can express themselves.
Censorship…sorry, not here. Perhaps now that you have thrown the stone, you can elaborate on censorship here. Something tells me you simply won’t come up with anything.
What Mel should do is give Siriusbuzz a channel.
It would be a great talkshow and would have a lot of listeners I’m sure.
