Just Serious & SXM…

I agree with both of you, the 550 million plus 40% of the company was hard to comprehend at the time,and BK was even worse.
If Liberty/Worldspace becomes reality on March 5th or 6th or whatever the final court date is, Sirius will be first in line to supply content to Liberty when it becomes feasible.
Will that offset the 550m and 40% in the next few years? I can only hope that it does in the share price of SiriusXM.

Spencer – The company is not including the royalty fee in ARPU, only in top line revenue – as noted in the previous quarter’s call. They are keeping it separate from ARPU.

All I’m saying is that we might be able to make up for the loss of this part of the company with what Liberty can bring to the table, things that I don’t believe Sirius could pull off on their own. Pure speculation on my part, but I believe the Worldspace/Direct TV expanansion at some point is where we help negate the loss of ownership and counter the naysayers that want to say the market cap of Sirius is too high at this level because it is dilutive. Not a worry for now.

your kidding right! We paid Liberty to take 40% of our company…How in the hell can that ever be a win-win situation…my mistake…BK would have been worse. They loaned us 500M plus a fee to the tune of millions of dollars. We didnt sell them 40%…mel gave it to them!

What Spencer and other do not seem to realize is that although the 40% is dilutive to Sirius, this also means that Sirius gets the benefit of the massive clout and synergies they bring to the table with their other stakes in likes of Direct TV, Ticketmaster to name a few. Not to mention backing of CASH if ever required. I think the positives almost negates the stake taken in Sirius – it’s a win win for both involved.

It’s good to see you reporting on the the equity again. Is it safe to say that Liberty’s 40% stake in the company is represented in the current price per share? I have seen conflicting opinions, but I guess that is an understatement.

I think you left off the most important number that the street is looking for. positive earnings or at least beating the analysts expected -.02 per share. All the other stuff you mentioned is like you said…basically…somewhat known factors. IMHO, beating the street with earnings of just +.01 will be huge for the sp…I do not believe that postive earnings are baked into the sp.
