Sirius XM Updates SkyDock App
As SiriusBuzz wrote about last week in SkyDock Update Will Allow Pause And Rewind, Sirius XM Radio has now released their latest update to the SkyDock app, and the good news is that the new update delivers more than just pause and rewind.
I have already downloaded the app, and the new features are well thought out and deliver an even better user experience than before. Along with a 30 minute pause and rewind, the newly updated app features:
- A dedicated button for traffic and weather OR a tune to previous channel button. This allows instant access to traffic and weather, or for those who prefer to catch the tunes on a couple of stations, the ability to jump between channels. This is a well thought out addition to the app.
- Improved direct tune capability with predictive keypad. This feature will limit mistaken channel entry, and will improve usability.
- Last Viewed Memory. This is another update that makes the app seem more intuitive. Essentially the SkyDock remembers whether you were in direct tune mode or favorites mode when you last used the radio. An effective update for when you run into the store for a quick cup of coffee, and return to your car.
- Repairs issues with inn-app purchases from the iTunes store. This makes both consumers and Apple happy.
- Maintains dock volume level when using dock for other applications. Great for those that switch between Sirius XM and iTunes, Pandora, or Slacker.
All in all, the update is a download well worth taking advantage of. I have now used my updated SkyDock for several hours and have not run into any issues. You can dowload the app from the Apple App Store.
Position – Long Sirius XM Radio, No Position Apple
It seems that the best place to buy this sky dock right now is on amazon. Does anyone know if the siri website will be getting any soon. Also the apple store doesn’t have anymore???
you forgot to write about the best part the replay list
ok so if your listening to the stern show and different segments that are displayed on your radio screen such as chris rock in studio (example) gets stored on the rplay list then it will show robins news on the screen or different segments of the show so you can jump back and forth to listen to specific segments you missed or just enjoyed.
the next is the sponsons the sponsors are also on the replay list name website and phone number witch i would think would ad value to the ad space
dude great article but this replay list is HUUUUGE
@Dean….
Try our site sponsor TSS-Radio. I am not plugging them because they are a sponsor. I am plugging them because they are the best out there. http://www.tss-radio.com
tssradio is 10 to 15% more expensive than amazon on everything. there is zero reason to go there ever.
dennis…..
“tssradio is 10 to 15% more expensive than amazon on everything. there is zero reason to go there ever.”
That is quite a disrespectful comment, to which I feel compelled to respond.
1. TSS radio ships your device to you faster.
2. TSS Radio gives you support.
3. TSS Radio understands the business and the service far better than amazon.
4. You know who you are dealing with, and have no hassle returns with TSS.
5. TSS helps you with any warranty issues.
There are plenty of reasons to go to TSS Radio. Your comment is disrespectful to this site, as well as TSS Radio. If you want to bottom feed on price, you get what you pay for. On a skydock, TSS is $7 more, but you get it faster, get all the support you could need, and you know you are dealing with a reputable company. I stand by TSS because they have integrity, and integrity is worth volumes.
Man what they REALLY need is a SkyDock that can be used through a Micro USB port not Apple’s proprietary silliness. Then it would be a radio for pretty much any smart phone. I guess all I have now is online listening through phone to car radio if I have cell reception. Think bigger SIRI!!!
I wrote about that here:

Damn, it’s like you read my mind 7 days before I thought it. 🙂 Let’s hope SIRI thinks along the same lines as us.
