This fiasco drives home the point that you never get a second chance at a first impression.

The first impression from the people most interested in purchasing this iPhone App was not good.

There is nothing Sirius-XM can do that will undo the bad impression that they left with potential customers.
Someone needs to be fired over this but we know it won’t happen.

Glenn is probably right with AT&T being petrified and completely unprepared for what they got themselves into. The real issue, imo, is the deafening silence from SiriusXM.

This company, of which I have supported through subscriptions and word of mouth, has really gotten under my skin. They reek of desperation and unless some good will is displayed, will absolutely be losing my payment of which I will spend on a monthly lunch at Chilis in celebration of my freedom from “No more BS.”

I can’t understand how Sirius can botch this so bad. It was such an opportunity for them to put out a great app, and get themselves back on the technology map. They seem so out of touch for years, no vision, and this just tops it off. I was waiting for this app, I would have paid more for it, and wouldn’t mind paying a monthly fee for it. Without Howard forget it. I am in Canada and I can’t even get this app. it took so much time to get this app out I can’t believe they couldn’t get all the issues negotiated. Seemed like they could care less, just get this out, who cares if it is crap. The problem is, in peoples minds Sirius is quickly becoming old technology, who wants it. This just cements it. The way Sirius is managed is such a shame, it really is a good product.

As an XM subscriber since Feb 2002, I couldn’t agree more.

There is nothing worse than seeing something you were so proud of and just couldn’t say enough good about it to see it going into the shitter. Almost as bad as seeing a good kid with so much potential go down the wrong path.

Two years and more ago I really ment it when I would say to friends,work associates, & SatRad blogs when I said I would give up the internet & cell phone before I would give up SatRad and there would be a fight before I gave up my trusty ‘lil ‘ol SkyFi gen 1. I even used to end my post with: “My trusty ‘lil ‘ol SkyFi…FROM MY COLD DEAD HANDS!!!”

Now thanks to the total mess since the merger I can’t say that.

Thanks Mel,Greenstein, & Zellner and the rest of the corporate suits who have been making the decisions for fucking up a truly great thing.

You’ll get no good “FREE” word of mouth from me(and you know how much that is worth – but Mel & Co don’t care) and I suspect a shitload of other pissed off subscribers as well.

People like “Socialrunning” are only interested in making a profit and I’m all for that and that’s what all stockholders(myself included) want.

However, I am a long-term XM subscriber & lover of radio WORTH A SHIT first and stockholder second. The world is full of people who care not a whit for the product/service but are only interested in the price of the stock. Again, that’s fine but ultimately shitty service and piss poor product will cause a company to fail and I’m not happy to say that this is what is happening to SiriusXM.

Any possibility that it’s AT&T calling the shots? I mean 11 or 12 million users streaming Howard 100/101 8 hours a day might be a reason AT&T would not want that?

I know there are other apps that stream music, but there no where as popular as Howard??

Ok so because you turned a 10 cent profit on your single trade, that somehow negates Mel and his sh!t brained management’s disastrous release on the world’s most famous platform?

While you celebrate your trade we mourn the company. Senior management is consistently incompitent. If you love the product you have to be pretty upset right now. If you don’t care about the product, who knows what the stock could be at right now if Sirius just executed the open layups and free throws? This company doesn’t need a young Steve Jobs and Bill Gates mind to make this company successfull.
