Sirius XM Radio (NASDAQ: SIRI) announced today that Mike Krzyzewski, head coach of the Duke University and USA Men’s Basketball teams, will debut the seventh season of his weekly SiriusXM show, Basketball and Beyond with Coach K, on Tuesday, October 18 (7:00 pm ET) on Mad Dog Radio, channel 86.  The show demonstrates yet another unique aspect of audio entertainment that Sirius XM delivers to over 20 million subscribers throughout the country.  Programming such as this is a real differentiator for satellite radio as they compete for listeners in an ever evolving audio entertainment landscape.

Each week, Basketball and Beyond with Coach K features discussions on a wide array of subjects – from college basketball and other sports to current events – and showcases Krzyzewski’s personal perspective on principles for life on and off the court.  Coach K and his co-host, Dave Sims, interview a variety of special guests, including business leaders, entertainers, coaches and athletes.  Guests who have joined Coach K on past programs include U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, NBA Commissioner David Stern, Bob Knight, Joe Torre, LeBron James, John Thompson, Kobe Bryant, Pat Summitt, John Madden, Nick Saban, and NASCAR legend Richard Petty.

On tomorrow’s season premier, Coach K will interview Syracuse University head coach Jim Boeheim and University of Pittsburgh head coach Jamie Dixon, whose programs will join Duke in the ACC in the future.

“We are ecstatic to start our seventh season of Basketball and Beyond on SiriusXM,” said Krzyzewski. “This show presents a terrific outlet for us to connect with some of the top sports and business figures in the country.  Certainly, Dave and I look forward to the conversation with such accomplished personalities each week.  It is an honor for us to be part of the SiriusXM team, and more specifically, the Mad Dog Radio team.”

During last March’s NCAA Tournament, Coach K recorded his 900th victory as a head coach, and he enters the 2011-12 season just three wins shy of becoming the winningest coach in Division I men’s college basketball history.  In 36 years as a head coach, Coach K has built one of the top coaching resumes of all-time.  He has compiled an extraordinary 900-284 record, led Duke to four NCAA Championships (1991, 1992, 2001 and 2010) and guided the Blue Devils to 13 ACC Tournament championships and 11 Final Four appearances.  His teams consistently boast one of the best graduation rates in college basketball.
