Sirius XM Now on Blackberry With 7 Day Free Trial
Sirius XM finally announced today that they are getting into the BlackBerry game by offering access to a 120 channels of programming on the BlackBerry Storm, Bold, Tour, and Curve.
The best news? The new Sirius XM BlackBerry application will come with a free 7 day trial for new users. Do I wish it was 30 days? One has to wonder if it will be tough to get a real taste of the breadth all this programming in such a short amount of time.
The worst news? Once again, Howard Stern will not be on the BlackBerry mobile app. This comes as no surprise as The Howard Stern Show was a glaring omission on the Sirius XM iPhone application…sigh.
The future seems to be looking up for the Sirius XM mobile offerings and I am hopeful that they are ready to take this mobile thing a little more seriously. They now have a dedicated Sirius XM mobile page up… now that it is, lets make sure we add Windows, Palm, and Android support like Pandora.
This is actually a very good App.
It works beautifully on my Blackberry 8350i from NEXTEL.
It doesn’t have Stern but that likely won’t matter in 10 months anyway.
OMFG! A positive comment from boo boo?!?! I knew we’d make a believer out of him sooner or later. How much crow can a guy eat anyway? 🙂
does the app work well on the blackberry 8350i__,, because in my case it doesnot, i have to connect it to the wi-fi to make it works, because with the nextel brand doesnot work at all
Thanks for nothing BB, it is not available on 8330 curve fn-bs
Have you tried downloading it and installing it anyway?
The Sirius-XM site doesn’t say it supports my Blackberry 8350i from NEXTEL but it does.
It will probably work for you.
Be aware that depending upon your carrier, the app may not work if the Cell network can’t support the bandwidth.
Mine only works with a Wi-Fi connection because the IDEN network of NEXTEL can’t handle the bandwidth.
I just tried installing the Curve 8500 Series version on my 8330. It installed, but it throws an error when it tries to run.
Error Message:

Error starting SXM:

8830 World Edition throws the same error, unfortunately.

Great! now if they would offer this service in Canada so that I could add it to my existing service…
I’m so pissed right now. Blackberry is pathetic. SiriusXM is a bunch of lazy deuches. My 8330 gets the same error with 8500 series install. I tried everything, ran updates, tried upgrading java which is impossible on a blackberry. Everything takes 10 years to accomplish on this piece of junk. My question is why wouldn’t they make the app work on the most popular company bb – the 8330. Are they retarded? So great I can only listen at work not in my car which is the reason I got this subscription.
I totally agree with you that the 8330 is probably the most used and the most still in use blackberry on the market today and XM Sirius doesn’t have an app to support this phone. PATHETIC!!!! I did here that someone got it to work with the 8500 app but you have to be running the 5.0 software which I tried to upgrade but my carrier Verizon(also Pathetic) would only allow the 4.5 software version. Sounds fishy!
Exact same problem on BB 8830. My Os is 4.5.0.186
It seems like the effort on this has stagnated. No responces at all.
