Sirius XM Radio (NASDAQ:SIRI) announced today that the company plans to release their Q3 2011 financial and operating results on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at 8:00 AM EST. Investors and the press can listen to the conference call via the company's website, and on its satellite radio service by tuning to Sirius channel 94 or XM channel 141. The call will also be available on the Sports Nation 2 channel on Sirius XM Internet Radio as well as through the Sirius XM Internet Radio App for the Apple iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, and on BlackBerry and Android-powered smartphones.
The Q3 conference call should be interesting in that there are a wide range of expectations being placed on the company. From a financial metrics perspective the company should have decent numbers, but the subscriber number could be a challenge.
In other news, the company filed an 8K today which outlined the return and subsequent retirement of 202,400,000 borrowed shares. The shares were borrowed in 2008 as part of a financing agreement. Under GAAP rules, the borrowed shares were not considered outstanding for the purpose of computing and reporting net income (loss) per common share. The retirement of these shares will have no effect on the calculation of our earnings per share.
