hey….i am no Democrat apologist. I am a proud Libertarian.

But the simple truth is that the REPUBLICANS have the majority in the FCC.

MAJORITY rules right?

NO matter what dems in congress opposed the merger….the REPUBLICANS IN THE FCC could have approved AT ANY TIME IN THE PAST 18 MONTHS. THEY had the majority….and THEY ALONE ARE HOLDING IT UP AS WE SPEAK.

Guys…I really appreciate the passion you share. But could you use the comment section to keep on the topic? Perhaps you could post a thread in the forum for everyone to weigh in on. Iiam, who has had the control of congress that puts the commissioners in front of oversite commitees. Who confirms the commisioners. The democratic controled congress. This would have been done and over a long time ago if you democrats would not have voted them in power in the first place. I can be as sure as one can be, that this merger would have been settled a long time ago if the congress was controled be republicans.

Again, liam, U are correct. Martin, in particular, should of had more control. I saw a few of the FCC hearings online (yawn) and U couldn’t believe that Martin was even in control of these bizarro meetings. I don’t honestly know how he became the ‘chariman,’ or what he will do after this, but my God, go away. We don’t need the FCC, and apparently the Republicans keep the FCC to protect us from all that is bad–oh, and keep the religious nuts voting Republican. ‘Member when the Republicans were for LESS gov’t? Hell, we’ve got the FCC sucking 3 years w/no price increase, channels for minorities (huh?), oh, and $20,000,000.00! Whatever. If I could get Sirius in France I’d head there (LOL)

Holy crap, now I have seen it all. Yea that is intelligent, blame the republicans that are voting for it and not the democrats that are voting against. I will say it yes most denocrats are nim-rods. It is their idealogy that makes them what they are. Lets see, tell me if this makes sense Kill babies save the killers. Thats right most democrats believe in that contradiction. They are prochoice (for abortion) and against the death penalty. So they dont give a rats ass about a baby that has done nothing wrong, And care that someone that has killed a rape another person should be saved. You tell me how does that make sense. It doesn’t, just like your idea that we should blame the republican commisioners, that are going to vote for the merger and not the democrats commissioners that are voting against it. You people are the reason I worry about this country.

No Steve. I think if there is one thing left we can judge a person on it is their political stance. Democrats have their ideology and that differs from Republicans. We aren’t talking about race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, etc. We are talking about political beliefs.

Yeah…they voted NO. Duh. That was a forgone conclusion from the beginning. EVERYONE knew the DEMS would vote NO.

My POINT…and it should be OBVIOUS to ALL….is that there are 3 REPUBLICANS and only 2 DEMS in the FCC.

The REPUBLI-CANTS have had TOTAL control over the outcome of this thing from the VERY BEGINNING.

What part of this simple fact can’t you grasp?

It was ALWAYS within the REPUBLICANS ability to end this with a majority YAY vote.

And like I said…EVEN NOW….in the final hours…when it comes down to TWO REPUBLICANS….they are bickering like little children.

The entire FCC is to blame. But I’m not going to give the Republicans a pass because in the end it will be them who voted for the merger.

Just the fact that it’s two republicans fighting at the end proves that that the delay was not the DEMS fault.

The Republicans could have ended this ANY time….but didn’t. And they are STILL the ones holding this up.

The champagne should be flowing now.

Doobz26: So, by your logic, if the 3 Republicans were instead Puerto Ricans and the 2 Democrats were instead Canadians, one could assume that you would think all Puerto Ricans are good and all Canadians are bad? It’s really hard to extrapolate to a whole population from just 5 individuals.
