The NPD data for November 2007 has been released. The NPD Group is the leading global provider of consumer and retail market research information for a wide range of industries. They provide critical consumer behavior and point-of-sale (POS) information and industry expertise across more industries than any other market research company.

The November data shows that overall satellite radio retail sales are still down on a year over year comparison basis (25% off of last years sales). Sector sales were also up sharply for both Sirius and XM as compared to last month. Sirius fared better than XM despite a pretty big on line marketing campaign, and more aggressive prices recently launched by XM Satellite Radio. Sirius' share was at it's highest point ever with 68% of the NPD tracked sales. This represents 27 consecutive months that Sirius has garnered a larger NPD share than XM. NPD does not track all retail sales, and in particular does not track sales from Sirius or XM directly to the consumer.
