June saw the nice trend in new car sales continue with just over 1.4 million new vehicles sold.  The trend in the categories continue with just about half of the new cars sold being in the "unpaid" promotional subscription category, meaning that the satellite radio equipped cars sold will not be counted in the company subscriber numbers.

As many readers are aware, the company is trying to shift the focus from "subscribers" to "self paying subscribers".  This change came about when the renegotiated GM deal took effect last Q4.  There will certainly be growing pains associated with the new deal, but overall it is much better for SiriusXM.  Data below:
