It has been a couple of weeks since it was announced that Bubba The Love Sponge had turned down the deal offered to him by Sirius XM and yet, as recent as yesterday, Howard made a point of saying that he was still in talks trying to make a deal happen. The question is, why?

Since leaving his afternoon slot on Howard 101, Bubba has signed a contract to broadcast an uncensored version of his radio show with Radioio.com. Considering the limited number of hours in a day, this means the only thing Howard could be fighting for is the rebroadcast of Bubba’s current terrestrial radio show.

Howard makes a point to remind us on a weekly basis just how great his show and this company is now that he has uncensored freedom so, why does he fight to tie a rehashed, watered down, terrestrial radio feed to his Howard 101 name?

I think it is important to note that this company was clearly in a better place with the uncensored Bubba The Love Sponge Show on their roster and that losing talent to any kind of possible competition is a bad idea but, if Sirius XM really is about uncensored exclusive content, it’s time to move on.

Let it go Howard, this fight is a lost cause. Do what you do best and introduce your listeners to some new talent worthy of your channels (not a wack packer). Just make sure, when your fans fall in love, that Sirius XM is dedicated to keeping that talent happy so your fans and subscribers don’t have to go through this kind of aggravation ever again.
