Howard Stern Back on Lycos Top Internet Searches 2008
After just missing the “honor” in 2007 Howard Stern is back on the Lycos most popular search, coming in at #8 on the top searched men list. The top 10 men of 2008:
- Clay Aiken
- Barack Obama
- Heath Ledger
- Paul Newman
- John McCain
- Tupac Shakur
- Johnny Depp
- Howard Stern
- Travis Barker
- 50 Cent
What I found most entertaining was the fact that whoever wrote the press release could not resist throwing in the following jab
…reappearing in 2008 after falling off the list in 2007 is Howard Stern, who, despite seeing a continued decline in his Sirius Satellite ratings, managed to keep himself in the headlines, marrying long-time girlfriend Beth Ostrosky.
of course Howard couldn’t have just made the list because his talent and growing ratings, instead they suggest that he made the list because of his marriage to Beth. Which only leaves one question… who the hell still searches the net with Lycos?
Let’s not get excited about being 8th on a llist with Clay Aiken# 1 – pathetic
Charles,
If we did have the resources to add a new personality to the sirius/xm team, what are a few names you think could have a positive impact?
Thanks.
Don’t worry, I don’t think anyone is too excited about being #8, since Lycos is an unreliable joke. Just watch Google trends on any given day and you will see who is generating the most interest.
I have no idea who Sirius could add since I haven’t listened to terrestrial in years but, I would hope it would be someone with proven radio experience. I am not a fan but, Rush Limbaugh would probably bring over some subs. (This looks like a great topic of a forum post, I would love to see who other readers think might be a good fit for SATRAD)
Nobody uses Lycos to search the internet as others have already mentioned. The press release is idiotic for at least one reason and probably more. I states that Stern’s ratings have declined, yet Satellite does not have ratings. The author made a nonsensical comment that demonstrates bias and ignorance.
