I agree that it would insane for Sirius to start promoting slacker on their website and the day Sirius does start to promote Slacker I will be right there next to you giving them hell.

Dave

You might be surprised. The folks at sirius XM are very active readers of the site.

No. Not bury them. In some ways knowing everything about your competition is important. My point is if you're Microsoft, you don't go around promoting apple. They are your biggest competition and the more you hype the good things about the competition the more likely you are to lose your own customers.

The most successful companies out there always promote/hype their own strengths and never play down their weaknesses or build up others strenths.

Do you feel differently Charles?

So... we should bury all the facts about competition? We posted XM news before the companies were merged and no one complained. I am not sure what the change of heart is here.

The reality is people should know about the competition and related products. There has been a "competitors" category section here for years.

I'm all for Tyler posting whatever it is he wants since after all it is his site but a non-sirius/xm product being promoted is just one more thing working against us. It's getting harder and harder to be a bull on this thing with all of the competition out there.

The reality is if you aren't a fan of the proprietary shows sirius/xm have on them such as stern or oprah you can get most of the stuff utilizing other services.

And my one big pro of satellite radio is being able to get a signal wherever I am but even this is proving to not be such an advantage anymore with all of the cellphone towers around. I can get 100's of radio stations through my phone for free nowadays.

Evolution of SiriusBuzz

SiriusBuzz was established as a place for SIRI stockholders to get information and news about their company. It has grown and, along with SiriusBuzz Radio, has evolved into a commercial venture.

So, what's the problem?

We still have the forums as the means to get our news, information, and release our tensions thru discussion. We haven't lost anything!
Perhaps some controversy could have been avoided if Tyler had put that cartoon in the Political Forum, which they created just for that purpose.

On the other hand, if Tyler and Charles can make a few bucks in exchange for the time they put into this site and the radio show, that's OK with me.
