I never implied that you could just call up DirecTV and say, "give me that Sirius/XM content for free." I guess you didn't see the words directly following that said, "...with their DirecTV subsciption." I do think that there are some things in life that are free though, but you have to have an open heart to see them....

How do you know if they have a good deal or not?

You don't even know what the deal is.....

When Sirius/XM cancelled my favorite channel, Beyond Jazz, they didn't lower the monthly fee. They promoted Beyond Jazz as being part of the service before they cancelled it....

Give me some examples of truly "free" things... and don't come with the bs of love. Love does not count. Maybe a fart counts but not love.

They have to be material items or services.

By being on Direct TV Sirius is getting exposure for "free" and most likely they are getting royalties... If one Direct TV subscriber out of 100 subscribes to Sirius because of this exposure, then for me that is a good deal. If you force the issue and make Sirius a "premium" on Direct TV then the exposure to new potential clients goes away.

    That is pathetic.

I know what they are doing to lure in new subscribers in but tell me, what are they doing to keep you as a subscriber ?

I know they are cancelling channels.
I know they are increasing prices.
I know the content quality is diminishing.
    Etc ...

Again, you don't know what the deal is so how can you know if it's a good deal or not?

    Exposure.

Can you tell how this can be a bad deal ? Not getting paid ? Still they get exposure. Paying to be on Direct TV ? Well, Sirius values the exposure they get and think it worths the money.

Sirius/Xm could get a lot of exposure by giving away it's service for free too, but is it a good business model?

    SIRIUS Exposure

I never really thought about how much SIRIUS lives in my life:

One main subscription (on my boombox) I also have two boomboxes one for work and one for the bedroom (I switch radios between them)
    One in my car
    One in my wife's car
    4 on my T.V.'s
    1 on my computer

    That is 8!

That is pretty significant exposure and methods of access.
