    Miss Julie

I see that you are a moderator in these here parts. I'd be mighty happy if you would tell me what this here site is a doin. I made a small remark on another thread and a response was to tell me that the sound of crickets was bein heard. And to advise me to go to Satwaves.

Seems that new members are not bein heered and talked to when they introduce themselves.

Can you provide a cowpoke with some feed for the horses, so to speek.

    Thanks, Missy.

PS Just saw your remark. What benefits? I'm a skeered of this place. Seems like a town I once passed through with nothin but coyotes and sagebrush.

    My dear Mr. Atyp,

The benefits I am referring to, are the respect and admiration of the
town we reside in. 100 times, make that 101 times you have
stuck your neck out to make a post. That takes confidence and guts
to do. Obviously. Which brings me to your concern about
welcoming new members. As a moderator every morning I scour
these parts for spam. Almost on a daily basis I have to eliminate posts
from new 'members' that are, shall we say, 'colorful'
Before I realized they were spammers, I welcomed several myself,
encouraging them to post more often.

I know I have been lax in doing what I did so often before. Welcoming
new members to our great group. And we are a great group! We don't
bite, maybe nibble, and look forward to different input, opinions and new
    friendships.

So, thank you for the wake up call, Atyp. In the future I promise to get
back on the wagon, grab my pom poms and start the cheering.
Because I would so hate for this wonderful site to disappear.

Afterall, then what would I do without all my friends?

    Julie

I was only wondering, not accusing, because of the dearth of comments lately. As I am only a "cowpoke" I wanted an expert opinion.

Relative to my neck it is hanging by a carotid. Now that I am a "senior" I can have little to say until the surgery.

I would love to see you waggle your pom poms.

And thank you for the friendly PM. I have reciprocated and sincerely feel honored.

I didn't view your post as accusing, only as being concerned. I appreciate
your asking. Because honestly I hadn't made the effort lately. Now I will.

My pom poms are being removed from storage, (placed behind my file
cabinet ) dusted off and ready to go.

Thank you Atyp for making the effort to post. You are a fine gentlemen
and I am honored to have you as a friend.

    Julie

P.S. Really awesome story from yesterday. That took a lot of thought,
imagination and memory. Please write a sequel.

Thanks for the kind words - and humor that are always part of your comments. As I once told you, they are appreciated and always enjoyed.

As far as a sequel the only people that have commented beside you are Havakasha and SeriouslyLong. SL only referred to it obliquely. I'm not looking for plaudits perhaps just to know that some of those who post on this site have read it. Maybe my other "efforts" have contributed to the silence.

But if you want a sequel sometime I would be happy to create one just for you. It will have to await some topic to draw my attention. Maybe Mel will provide one.

Look at us Atyp. We are racking up posts for this weekly thread.
And I haven't even gotten to my weather reports yet.
Not only that but you are now firmly planted into the Senior Membership
Community. Hovering at 100 would have been pretty wimpy. But no,
you weren't satisfied to be just at 100, you shot right past that.

People like myself read your story and loved it. Only problem is what we
have been discussing earlier. It's not about your story Atyp, it's because
they don't take the time to respond. Trust me, in no way have
you contributed to their silence. Many a week I have pleaded, cried,
begged and threatened for responses to my posts. Nothing. And still,
here I am. Still posting. I just know there are people out there that
    enjoy a good weather report.

Thank you for your kind words. Lots of mutual admiration going on here.

"Lots of mutual admiration going on here."

Perhaps that's because there are no others here to butt in. We be the only ones.

And yes, what is the weather report for today in Michigan?

"Trust me, in no way have you contributed to their silence."

Don't be so sure. I'm not called Atypical for nothing especially on financial sites. (I have references and testimonials).

I remember a time when you spoke of those running up posts to get over 100.
I honestly never paid any attention until I noticed I was close. I laughed.

Well that's okay. We can rename this the Atyp and Julietoo thread.
I can give weather reports and you can create controversy. Maybe that is what we need a few heated
discussions. Look at the, Why was John banned post. That went on for several pages.

Nothing wrong with being atypical. Anyone can be a sheep. And you certainly
    are not of of those.
And I prefer to think the reason no one is butting in is because they agree.
    We are great.

Weather report for Michigan Jan 19. Actually for Jan 18,17, 16 and back.
    Dreary, gray, cold, and damp.
    Summary. It sucks.

    Your turn.

Werent Brandon Mathews and Reimor preidicting much higher sub #'s?
Seems like they were way off. Now we know we can trust their predictions as far as you can throw them. At least Reimor was closer to the truth though still not closer to the facts.

Anyone know what the street in general was predicting?
