SIRI closed at 25 cents today......your thoughts?

In this parallized credit market/recession/depression, etc. Sirius XM is vulnerable to people's worry, as are a lot of other companies which will need cash infusions in the future. So then, Joe Q. Investor says "I can't stand this - I want to sell my 1,000 shares and if I sell for 2 cents less it's only 20 bucks, so who cares". Bingo, that 2 cent drop is about 6 percent of the share's price. With the stock's continued drop with everyone so freaked out by this market/economy what's 20 bucks to Joe Q. Investor. So, the large percentage drops keep piling one on top of the other, day after day.

What? It's a great company? What, it has great potential? Joe Q. Investor is freaked out and can't hear any of this right now, I'm afraid. Thus, the shakeout and the few cent drops daily.

According to Investor Relations, Institutional ownership for the combined companies is 54%. Where would we look to verify that number?

I'm just trying to make some...any kind of sense of what we are seeing. Mel isn't saying anything and yet the price just keep tanking. It doesn't make any sense. Manipulation, ok, but to what end? Such a huge drop from .38 to .25 today. It will be a long time (relatively speaking) before they would declare BK. When I spoke to IR the other day, I asked her point blank, "is this company going bankrupt"? She said no, that definitely wasn't in their plans, but she couldn't see 6 months or a year out.

So here we are at .25. Back to my initial question. Mel is quiet and the stock price keeps dropping. Are the vultures from the institutions swooping in and picking up shares on the cheap from folks who have finally had enough and got out? Do we have some kind of tacit understanding between Mel and the institutions to allow them to pick up share cheaply from investors to scared to hold?

It can't be any farther out there than all the other theories

spanyo, regarding your GS quote. Ya, that sounds bad on the surface, but they are supposed to be cash flow positive. Doesn't that 540million include costs associated with the satellite launches?

Probably includes every cost GS can think of. I ignore what GS says other than if they are positive or negative. When they become bullish, I believe the price will start climbing. Until then I still see a slow downward trend. Unless Mel comes out with BIG news.

The trick is buying the day before either of these things happen.

I am correct...the idea that you can naked short over and over and over the same day and only the last trade before the bell needs to be delivered is CRIMINAL.
