Report: Sirius XM laying off 80 people
By Ryan Saghir on October 15, 2008
Reports are coming in that Sirius XM Radio Inc. is laying off approximately 80 staffers, a number that is a bit higher than previously reported, but one that sounds "pretty solid" a D.C. source tells Radio-Info.......
The Dow is now down 533 points and SIRI ids down about 9% @ .4336 with about 15 minutes till the closing bell. Are they going to wack SIRI into the close or buy it up? We will know soon...
Wow the DOW is now down over 600 with 10 minutes left to go......is this another crash? SIRI trading at .43 now - down 10%......ouch!
5 minutes left to go........DOW now down 670 - SIRI @ .43......
Will this crap ever end?
What a sucky day.....the Dow closed down 738!
Those bastards are back at it again, wacking SIRI into the close....
SIRI closed at .42.....the low of the day - down 12.5%!
Painful to watch.......and I'm all alone on this board too!
I had an order pending for 2300 shares at .42 I placed at 3:30 PM. It never filled. Just something to share with the group. With the overall bloodbath, things should have been worse for SIRI. They weren't.
SIRI now trading at .45 in AH on 1,146,177 shares...
Is this another tease?
In notes to clients obtained by Reuters, Citigroup announced the departures of Joshua Attie, Brad Ball, Shannon Cowherd, Chip Dillon, Paul Heldman, John Hill, Paul Mansky, David Raso, George Shapiro, Tony Wible and Leone Young. A person familiar with the matter said Paul Heldman was also laid off.
Wible was a good SIRI analyst. He was pro-SIRI. We lost one of the few remaining positive voices with the departure of Tony Wible at CITIgroup. Jessica Reiff Cohen - one of Mel Karmazin's best long time friends - of the former Merrill Lynch - had also provided positive analysis, but her last SIRI report was not favorable. Who remains who will play up the positive aspects of SIRI XM?
