The Best of Sirius on XM -
http://www.orbitcast.com/archives/be...-up-on-xm.html
Reports have come in of the "Best of" Sirius channel logos are showing up on the XM Satellite Radio service, and someone even snapped off a few photos of them in action.
As far as we know, the "Best of" services are still scheduled for an October 6th launch, so these are probably just live tests and the channel assignments could very likely change.
But it's still pretty cool to see.
Temp Channels for the service on XM side from message board source

$17.99 per month? Huh?
Ummm, you're already paying $12.99 a month, genius. Then to add the extra channels noted above is only another $4.00 per month. It is not $17.99 per month.
Being an XM subscriber, adding Stern and NASCAR is probably worth $4/month more to me... so I'll sign up for it... that is, if the friggin website would stop with the errors already. Their website sucks.

P.S. -- It's no where near $16.99 per month either, if you know how to do it....
My wife has been an XM subscriber for over 5 years. She's signed up through the mulit-year prepaid plan, so it only costs $9.99/month. Then my radio is on the family plan, so I only pay $6.99/month. That's $16.98/month for 2 radios.
I can then add the Sirius package to my radio for the additional $4/month.
As I said, if you take advantage of the offers, it can be worth it...

I'm a sirius subscriber and i can get the best of xm channels now, but i need to get a better radio. Should the new Stratus 5 radio work with the sportster boombox? I've had it for close to 2 yrs. I think the model # is SP-b1ra

Many sirius radios uncompatible with best of xm package
Older sirius radios uncompatible with the new xm add on package
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unfortunately many of the very first Sirius 12 volt powered radios released and the foundation of the long term Sirius loyal subscriber base are the ones who will have to do without the Best of XM package unless you buy a new radio. Here is a partial list of radios that wont get the XM channels.
Sportster SP-R1
Sportster Replay SP-TK2 ( first 2 years of release) If you get Hardcore sports 98 on your radio you should be good for the Xm add on (call customer service)
Orbiter SR4000 DISH SR200 BRIX STREAMER
All Audiovox and Jensen plug & play radios
Most Sirius One SV1 radios.
STARMATE ST1 & ST1R
STARMATE ST2 & ST2R & XACT XTR8 Replay ( first 2 years of release) If you get Hardcore sports 98 on your radio you should be good for the Xm add on (call customer service)
Xact XTR1 & XTR2
Xact XTR3 Visor radios
SO here is the way Sirius is slowly retiring the radios they got fined by the FCC for due to the Strong Fm transmitter design that were in these radios.
If you want the Best of XM add on package you have to get a new radio.
Odd thing here is all Xm radios that I know of are compatible with the BEST of Siruis add on package and will NOT require an upgrade whatsoever.
