Yesterday, Marie Yovanitch defied the State Department's order to not testify and spoke before three House committees for more than nine hours. She gave, as CNN calls it, "damning testimony about Trump's foreign policy." She described the efforts of Rudy Giuliani and his two now-indicted associates to pressure Ukraine into investigating Joe Biden and explained how Trump and the State Department wanted her removed as ambassador because she refused to cooperate with Giuliani. And at least four national security officials, alarmed about Giuliani's lobbying and Yovanovitch's removal, voiced their concerns to White House lawyers. петле ужесточает.

Emperor Trump and the Congressional Republicans who keep silent and thereby enable his abuse of power are attacking the impeachment inquiry the way they attacked the Mueller investigation: "Hoax!" "Witch hunt!" "Illegitimate!" "Unconstitutional!" "Kangaroo court!" Here are the facts which Trump and the Republicans deny:

Almost everything Emperor Trump says and does serves only to make him look increasingly guilty. He is really becoming deranged and out of control. He is totally unfit to serve as President.

House Democrats were planning to have the first whistleblower testify behind closed doors at an undisclosed location. His appearance and voice would be distorted. Then they considered having him testify in writing. They're now considering not having him testify at all. They fear for his safety because Emperor Trump has called him a "spy" and a "traitor," is demanding to know his identity and has suggested execution as punishment.

The whistleblower's testimony isn't necessary, though. Three House committees have his written complaint, other witnesses, a series of damning text messages and the rough transcript of the phone call during which Trump asked Zelensky for a "favor." More importantly, they have Trump's confession. On live television, he admitted asking Ukraine to investigate Biden. On live television, he asked China to investigate Biden. Seeking political favors from a foreign government is a violation of the Presidential oath of office.

Los Angeles Times political columnist Doyle McManus looks at the similarities – and differences – of the Watergate scandal and the Ukraine scandal. Both Nixon and Trump attempted to "hobble" a Democratic opponent and both Nixon and Trump displayed abuse of power, obstruction of justice and contempt of Congress. However, there was bipartisan support for Nixon's impeachment, whereas right now the support for Trump's impeachment is heavily partisan – but that may change.

Biden was being overly polite when he said Donald Trump has the "most corrupt administration in modern American history." Trump has the most corrupt administration in American history, period.

Joe Biden on call for Trump-Ukraine probe: 'I'm the reason there is impeachment going on'
    CNN, Oct 13 2019 6:27 PM ET

Joe Biden said today that even though he was the last top-tier Democratic candidate to call for President Donald Trump's impeachment, "I'm the reason there is impeachment going on." At a forum in Iowa, the former Vice President lambasted Trump for asking foreign governments to investigate him and his son Hunter – despite there being no evidence of wrongdoing on the part of either Biden – saying the President is leading the "most corrupt administration in modern American history."

The 2020 Democratic Presidential candidate also told reporters his family and associates would not work for foreign companies if he is elected President, saying he would have an environment in the White House reminiscent of former President Barack Obama's administration. "I can tell you now, if I am your next President, I'm going to build on the squeaky clean, transparent environment that we had in the Obama-Biden White House," he said.

Biden drew a stark contrast between himself and Trump, saying that no one in his administration would serve in the White House or sit in on meetings as if they are Cabinet members. The comment was a clear reference to Trump's daughter Ivanka Trump and son-in-law Jared Kushner, who both work as senior Trump administration officials. "No one in my family will have an office in the White House, will sit in on meetings as if they're a cabinet member, will in fact have any business relationship with anyone that relates to a foreign corporation or foreign country," Biden said.

Sondland, the US Ambassador to the European Union, told another diplomat that Trump said there was "no quid pro quo" involved in the military-aid-in-exchange-for-Biden-dirt offer. Sondland's statement does not mean there was no quid pro quo. There obviously was. Sondland was merely repeating the words of Donald Trump, who lies constantly. Sondland is expected to testify before Congress this week. And regardless of whether there was a quid pro quo, Trump's attempt to get election help from a foreign government is an abuse of power, a violation of federal laws and a violation of the oath of office. It also endangers our national security and the integrity of our elections. The President doesn't care, though. Donald Trump wants only what is good for Donald Trump.

Our racist, bigoted, immigrant-hating, white nationalist President is once again attacking Democratic Representative Rashida Tlaib. How dare she expect any Trump White House officials to honor a subpoena! Emperor Trump is above the law – and, by extension, so is everyone in his administration.

Memo to Emperor Trump: If your administration was really "the most transparent in United States history" as you claim it is, you wouldn't be denouncing investigations as "ilegitimate" and "unconstitutional," you wouldn't be calling them "hoaxes" and "witch hunts" and you wouldn't be ordering White House officials to ignore subpoenas and refuse to testify. What are you hiding? What are you afraid of?

Emperor Trump told reporters he removed the US ambassador to Ukraine because he "heard very bad things about her." We now know what Trump considered "bad" was her refusal to help Trump and Giuliani in their efforts to pressure Ukraine into investigating Joe Biden. Yovanitch testified before House Democrats on October 11. Fiona Hill, an expert on Russia who served on the National Security Council from April 2017 until Aigust 2019 when she resigned, testified for ten hours today – and she had no "very bad things" to say about Yovanovitch.
