    A newborn panda weighs between 90 and 130 grams and is only 1/900th the size of its mother. Because of their small size, newborn pandas are very fragile and have a high risk of disease and death. It appears this one, however, will survive:

    This dog runs into flames to rescue koalas. He's my new hero.

    The World Wildlife Fund estimates there are between 22,000 and 31,000 polar bears in the world. Around two-thirds of them are in Canada. Experts say rising temperatures, melting sea ice and decreased food supplies will cause the polar bear population to decline by one-third by 2050 – and all the polar bears could be gone by 2100. Yikes!

    Red pandas are native to the eastern Himalayas and southwestern China. There are fewer than 10,000 red pandas in the wild. Their numbers are decreasing because of habitat loss and poaching.
