When Emperor Trump faces backlash for things he's said or done – which is pretty much every minute of every day – almost every Republican member of Congress remians silent. They know being critical of Emperor Trump would likely jeopardize their political career. Emperor Trump and the Republican party come first. Our democracy, the rule of law, our system of checks and balances, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights are not nearly as important. Here is breaking news from CNN:

House of Representatives passes a resolution denouncing President Trump's racist comments targeting four progressive Democratic congresswomen of color.
The vote was 240 to 187. Four Republicans and independent Justin Amash joined Democrats in voting for the resolution.

Chris Cuomo opened his CNN program tonight with a question: "How did racism become a partisan issue?" Today the House of Representatives passed a resolution denouncing Emperor Trump for making racist comments about four non-white Congresswomen, all four of whom are United States citizens. Cuomo noted there are 197 Republicans in the House and, after Trump "warned" them to not denounce him for his racist comments, "only four had the spine to put principles before party."

As I've been saying for the past three years, all but a very few Republicans have a "see-no-evil, hear-no-evil, speak-no-evil" attitude toward Emperor Trump. He and the Republican party come first. We need to put an end to Trump's "Make America Hate Again" and "Make America White Again" campaigns by voting Trump and the Republicans out of office.

Emperor Trump insisted yesterday, "I don't have a racist bone in my body." That, of course, is a lie. A huge lie. Trump refused to rent apartments to black families and was sued by the Justice Department in 1973 for violating the Fair Housing Act. Referring to a black accountant at Trump Plaza, he said, "Laziness is a trait in blacks." He called Muslims "terrorists" and called Mexicans "rapists" and "drug dealers." He called Haiti and Africa "shithole countries." He praised neo-Nazis as "very fine people." He told four non-white Congresswomen to "go back" to "the crime-infested areas" from which they came. (Three are American-born; all four are U.S. citizens.) Trump is our nation's Racist-In-Chief.

Letter from Carol Karas of Camarillo in today's Los Angeles Times:

"I am appalled by Trump attacking U.S. citizens who are elected members of the House. Congress is a co-equal branch of our government. Trump's childish behavior continues to embarrass our country, so why aren't all our Representatives and Senators defending their duly elected colleagues? Why aren't they making their collective voices heard? Stop this bully now."

And from Martin Brower of Corona del Mar:

"Trump has an excellent idea: Anyone unhappy with the way things are in the U.S. should leave the country. So, it is time for Trump to depart. After all, he does not like immigration, universal healthcare, investigations of the President, income tax disclosures, Democrats and so many other things. Where should he go? Russia comes to mind."

    A fine idea!

In 2011, Congress established a fund to provide compensation to first responders who have become ill from exposure to toxic debris in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. The fund is running out of money, there is a huge backlog of claims, and new claims will be accepted only through the end of 2020. Nobody in Congress could possibly object to extending the program and providing additional funding, right?

    Wrong.

Donald Trump continues to stoke fear and racial division in his never-ending "Make America Hate Again" campaign. Ilhan Omar, a Somali-born United States citizen, is one of four non-white Congresswomen whom Trump has wrongfully accused of hating America. He told them they should go back where they came from. (The other three were born in the United States but facts and reality never matter to Trump.) By attacking and disparaging duly elected members of Congress, Emperor Trump is causing further damage to our democracy – and his blindly loyal supporters refuse to see that. They worship Trump. They, and he, are scary. Extremely scary.

Letter from Jon Merritt of Los Angeles in today's Los Angeles Times:

"The President is a racist. The President is a racist. The President is a racist. The President is a racist. The President is a racist. The President is a racist. Thanks for listening."

And from Felix Tobin of Los Angeles:

"One thing I have noticed is that nobody hates to be called a racist more than a racist. That is because, to a true racist, if he considers other races to be inferior, it is not because he is a racist. It is because they are inferior. I believe Trump hates to be called a racist not because it is politically damaging to him but because it goes against everything he believes in. In his mind, if he treats people of other races as inferior, it is not because he is a racist. It is because they are inferior."

    Yeah, well, welcome to Trumpworld.

Trump's ongoing "Make America Hate Again" and "Make America White Again" campaigns are proving to be very successful, thanks to all the blindly loyal Trump supporters who worship the dishonest, immature, petulant, self-centered, immigrant-hating, orange-skinned buffoon and inexplicably accept all his lies, accusations and fear-mongering rhetoric as gospel truth.

Republican voters have become more xenophobic as Trump has normalized racist rhetoric

At his Wednesday night rally in North Carolina, Emperor Trump, with no evidence, told the crowd that Congressional Representative Ilhan Omar supported Al-Qaeda. They began chanting "Send her back!" They were echoing Trump's own words. He had tweeted that Omar and three other non-white Congresswomen should "go back" to the "totally broken and crime-infested places" they came from. (Three were born In the United States.) Emperor Trump told reporters yesterday he was "not happy with" the chant and tried to stop it. Of course that was a lie. Video of the rally shows the crowd chanting for 14 seconds while Trump calmly waited for them to stop. Today the orange-skinned parrot is once again squawking about the "Fake News Media." The news media are reporting the truth instead of reporting Trump's lies as truth. He hates that!

Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez denounced Trump for "putting millions of people in danger" with his hateful racist rhetoric: "This is not just about threats to individual members of Congress but it is about creating a volatile environment in this country through violent rhetoric that puts anyone like Ilhan, anyone who believes in the rights of all people, in danger. He has a responsibility for that environment." By the way, it is common for people in Spanish-speaking communities to use two last names. Our racist President mocked Ocasio-Cortez at his rally, telling the crowd, "I don't have time to go with three different names. We'll call her Cortez." Trump also insisted, "I don't have a racist bone in my body." Joe Biden responded, "I guess that means he has no bones." A brilliant line!

Emperor Trump was lying when he said he tried to stop the "Send her back" chant at his rally. Emperor Trump was lying when he said he disapproved of the chant. Today our racist, immigrant-hating, white nationalist Emperor is showing his true colors.
