    SXV300v1 or SXV200v1?

    Hello everyone,

I have an older Pioneer deck in my truck. When I purchased it, it was a bundle which contained the SXV200v1 tuner. I connected the tuner to my factory antenna (stock radio had SiriusXM) and everything has worked just great.

I just ordered a new Pioneer deck and it is SiriusXM ready. It does say I need the SXV300v1 tuner.

My question is, do I need the 300 tuner or should I be able to keep using my 200? I'm just trying to figure out if I need to spend the extra $30-$40 to buy the 300. The only information I have been able to find out there is that the 300 is the newer version which replaces the 200.

Anyone have any experience with this?

Welcome to Sirius Buzz! The SXV200 and SXV300 will work with any SiriusXM-Ready car stereo receiver. If you're like me and want to have the newest version of every electronic item you own, you can upgrade -- but you don't need to. You could even use an old SXV100 if you had one, but you wouldn't be able to get the Xtra channels in the 300s and 400s. Those channels are available on the SXV200 and SXV300 (and online).
