DirecTV requires subscribers to pay for hundreds of channels they'll never watch. DirecTV charges a monthly $7 "regional sports fee." DirecTV charges a monthly $10 fee for HD channels. (Dish does not.) Every month, DirecTV charges sales tax on their receivers, even though customers do not own them. DirecTV offers low "introductory rates" that more than double after 12 months. Does anyone wonder why DirecTV is losing subscribers?

Will AT&T keep DirecTV? Pay-TV unit lost 1.2 million customers in third quarter.

In 2016, Russian trolls created thousands of fake accounts on Facebook and spread pro-Trump, anti-Clinton propaganda. CEO Mark Zuckerberg says he believes in "free expression." Therefore, Facebook will continue to allow political advertising, whether truthful or not. Zuckerberg should believe in truth more than he believes in free expression. Twitter, however.......

Twitter bans political ads after Facebook refused to do so
    CNBC, Oct 30 2019 1:28 PM

Twitter will no longer allow political ads on its website, CEO Jack Dorsey announced today. Facebook, by contrast, recently said it would not fact-check or remove ads placed by politicians. Facebook’s decision has sparked backlash from lawmakers and employees. Earlier this month, Chinese video app TikTok became the first major social media platform to ban political ads from its platform.

In opposing this merger, the FCC's two Democratic regulators said it will turn our nation's wireless market into a "cozy oligarchy dominated by just three carriers" and will lead to higher prices. Have there ever been any mergers of banks, airlines, supermarkets, retailers, automobile manufacturers or other businesses that have resulted in lower prices? Umm.......
