Zolgensma is a gene therapy that treats spinal muscular atrophy in infants and will cost $2,125,000. Novartis will allow purchasers of the drug to make five annual payments of $425,000. Golly gee, how magnanimous of Novartis! Maybe in a few years there will be a generic equivalent that will cost only one million dollars.

The Renault company was founded in February 1899 in France. Five months later, Fiat was founded in Italy. A proposed $35 billion merger would create the world's third-largest automobile manufacturer behind Volkswagen and Toyota.

The deal would involve no plant closures but a statement didn't address potential job cuts.

Sam, Harry and Albert Wonskolaser were born in Poland and, as children, emigrated with their parents to London, Ontario, where their brother Jack would be born. They Anglicized their name to Warner. They opened a Hollywood movie studio in 1918 and incorporated it as Warner Bros. Pictures in 1923. The Warner Bros. record label launched in 1958 and had early success with albums by Bob Newhart, Buddy Cole, Spike Jones, Chico Hamilton, Peter Paul & Mary and the Everly Brothers.

After 61 years, Warner Bros. Records rechristened as Warner Records

Without those annual swimsuit editions, the Sports Illustrated brand would probably be worth only around $4.98.

I have a feeling Alexa is like the majority of the world's women: She will never forget the things a man says to her, especially if they're bad things.

Amazon’s Echo has a new command: Alexa, forget everything I just said!
Los Angeles Times, May 29 2019 2:00 PM

Amazon is updating its Alexa voice software to let users delete recordings of their voice using a spoken command, a move that follows criticism of the company’s privacy practices related to its digital assistant. A set of updates offers users who have opted in online the ability to say "Alexa, delete everything I said today" or, in a coming update, delete their most recent utterance. Previously, the only way to remove recordings was a tool on the Alexa privacy website or on the companion smartphone app.

Forty percent of the goods sold by Dollar Tree are manufactured in China. The chain is now forced to sell higher-priced items to offset the extra costs that have resulted from Trump's tariffs and trade war. Contrary to Trump's oft-repeated claim, those tariffs are paid by American consumers, not by the Chinese.

National Beverage Corporation blames "professional liars" for the lawsuits. Uh-huh, yeah, sure. Their stock price (NASDAQ: FIZZ) fell 31% last year and has dropped 37% in the first five months of 2019. Nine months ago, shares reached $124.60. Today they closed at $45.76. LaCroix is losing its "fizz."

Let me think. Do I want to spend $6,000 on Apple's Mac Pro, $5,000 on Apple's 32-inch 6K monitor and $1,000 on Apple's monitor stand plus an additional $1,000 in sales tax.......or should I spend that $13,000 on house payments, groceries, utilities, gasoline and clothing? Hmmm, what to do, what to do?

Apple wants to sell you a $1,000 stand so you can use its $5,000 monitor
