President Trump wants to slap a 5% tariff on all goods imported by Mexico. As is the case with the tariffs on Chinese goods, Americans would be paying for them. Not the Chinese. Not the Mexicans. Americans. The 5% tariff would take effect June 10 and rise an additional 5% each month, up to 25%. Among the many American businesses that would be hurt by these tariffs is Chipotle Mexican Grill. Today, after Chipotle's CFO warned that the tariffs would lead to higher costs and higher prices, the company's share price fell sharply, from 659.97 to 641.66, a loss of 2.77%. Shares dropped to 639.00 after hours, an additional 0.41% loss.
