I ate a Dunkin doughnut several years ago and it was very goopy and very messy. I have never wanted another one. Your opinion may vary.

The thinking is that customers prefer "simplicity over choice." McDonald's dropped several menu items and business improved. Now the other fast-food chains are on a mission to do likewise.

Fast food chains are slashing dozens of ideas from the menus -- and it reveals a massive shift in the industry

Look at the cardboard container holding your Big Mac. Was it made from toilet paper tubes? A box that held Snarol snail killer pellets? A big shipping carton that a homeless person slept in? You will never know.

Krispy Kreme is asking fans to vote on new doughnut flavor
    KGO-TV, Jan 19 2018 04:48 AM

The makers of Krispy Kreme doughnuts are looking to introduce a new flavor and you can help. From now until Monday, you can go to http://krispykreme.com/voteforglaze and vote on which new mouth-watering glaze will cover the donuts. You get to choose from blueberry, caramel, lemon and maple. The website allows one vote per day. Last year the company turned its donuts green for Saint Patrick's Day and created a chocolate glaze to celebrate the eclipse. Krispy Kreme will announce the winner on January 25.

McDonald's would not confirm Kamran Adnan's story -- but it certainly makes sense to me.

Why you should always ask for a receipt at McDonald’s
    Brooke Nelson, Reader's Digest, Jan 24 2018

If you catch a craving for burger and fries, McDonald’s is always a short drive away. But to ensure you get a fresh meal every time, you might need to take one extra step. Kamran Adnan, who says he worked for the fast food chain for one year, claims the staff gives extra perks to customers who ask for a receipt. Doing so will practically guarantee you’re served the freshest food, he wrote in a Quora post.

According to Adnan, McDonald’s employees are trained to watch out for "mystery shoppers" or "Gapbusters" — people who are paid to visit McDonald’s restaurants and rate their experience — at certain points in the day. These shoppers tend to dine between 12 to 2 PM and 5 to 7 PM. Because their reviews factor into the store’s rating, "every store manager will do everything to ensure this rating is as positive as possible," Adnan said. These undercover diners are typically reimbursed for their purchase so they will ask for a receipt. This signals to employees that the diner might be a "Gapbuster." Not only will they make sure to serve that customer first, they will also give him the freshest food possible.

I have never tried Nutella. Apparently a lot of people like it. Or at least they like it when it's 70% off.

I detest the KFC commercials with different men -- all of them obnoxious -- portraying Kentucky Fried Chicken founder Harland Sanders. And now look! This is wrong. This is so wrong.

This disgustingly-titled article is from North Carolina-based website The Cheat Sheet -- and I don't know if the restaurant chains are in any particular order but the first two cited are Taco Bell and Del Taco. I like Taco Bell and Del Taco!

This story comes from England. What we call "chips," Brits call "crisps." I translated the headline from British English to American English. You're welcome.
