Yes, because Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, Warren Buffett and Mark Zuckerberg sometimes get tired of eating Wagyu ribeye steaks, White Pearl albino caviar, white truffles and matsutake mushrooms and, goshdarnit, they get a sudden craving for a Big Mac or a Taco Bell gordita.

One in three Americans eat fast food daily – but one myth is debunked
    CBS News, Oct 3 2018 12:01 PM

Americans' love affair with fast food continues, with one in every three adults chowing down on the fare on any given day. That's the finding from a new report from the US Centers For Disease Control & Prevention. When asked by researchers, 37% of adults said they'd eaten fast food at least once over the past 24 hours. There was one surprise: Bucking the notion that poorer Americans favor fast food the most, the report found that intake actually rose with income. While about 32% of lower-income folks ate fast food daily, more than 36% of middle-income consumers had fast food on a given day, as did 42% of those with higher incomes.

Another member of the nothing-is-ever-my-fault generation has filed a lawsuit. If this teenager had spilled hot water on herself at home, would she have sued her parents?

As a growing number of Americans are shunning processed foods and preservatives and eating more fruit, vegetables and grains, many food companies are trying to sell off their junk-food brands and increase production of healthful foods. Do they really care about Americans' health? No -- they just want to produce foods that will bring them the most profit. (There's my cynicism again.)

I find it interesting that this story broke on Hallowe'en. Maybe it was planned that way. This will be welcome news for those of you who have always wanted to taste fried tarantula, boiled guinea pigs, bull testicles, sheep eyeballs and other disgusting foods. And please do not post photos online!

Burger King has come up with a clever promotion -- although it will cut into their profits. Their new app uses geofencing to allow anyone within 600 feet of a McDonald's to order a Whopper for a penny. The app will then show the location of the nearest Burger King. "Honest, honey, I'm sticking to my diet. Yes, I went to Burger King today but I ate only a nickel's worth of food."

This bacon vending machine will be at Ohio State only until December 13. If it were permanent, eventually "OSU" would stand for "Obese Students University."

Two years ago, McDonald's switched to antibiotic-free chicken. Now the chain plans to greatly reduce the amount of antibiotics in its beef. But.....but.....I thought antibiotics were beneficial.

Singer/songwriter/author/record producer John Carter Cash, the son of Johnny Cash and June Carter and the grandson of Maybelle Carter, has published his families' recipes in The Cash & Carter Family Cookbook. (In 1972, two years after John was born, Johnny and June recorded a duet titled I Got A Son & His Name Is John.)

Dunkin's offers Donut Fries and now McDonald's will introduce Donut Sticks, "strips of deep-fried dough sprinkled with cinnamon sugar." I wonder how many nutritionists fainted upon hearing the news.

This bully attacked a McDonald's employee because he was upset that straws were no longer available except upon request. I wonder if he spent the night in a jail cell. If so, I bet he couldn't get a straw there, either.

Man attacks a McDonald's employee over a straw
    CNN, Jan 4 2019 1:56 PM ET

A new plastic straw law had unexpected consequences when a man lashed out at a worker at a fast food chain. Daniel Taylor, a 40-year-old homeless man, had just gotten his order Monday evening at a McDonald's in St. Petersburg. He got upset when there weren't any plastic straws out at the condiment station. He walked back to the counter and got in a heated argument with an employee about the straws, then reached over the counter and grabbed the employee, By the end of the night, he would be arrested on two charges of simple battery. A city ordinance went into effect on January 1 that requires customers to ask for straws. It's a way for businesses to adjust before a ban on single-use plastic straws takes effect in January 2020.
