The orange-skinned parrot continues to squawk. Stone was "targeted by an illegal witch hunt" and Biden and Obama are "criminals who spied on my campaign and got caught." Did Trump offer any evidence for his accusations? No, none. He never does. He's a typical dictator, seeking to rewrite history and silence his critics. "Hoax! Witch hunt! Fake news! Hoax! Witch hunt! Fake news! Awwrrkkk!"

CNN's Chris Cillizza explains how Trump's commutation of Roger Stone's prison sentence is more than "just a misuse of Presidential power. It will have long-term impacts on the ways in which future Presidents consider their pardon and commutation powers." Mitt Romney denounced the move as "Unprecedented, historic corruption: an American President commutes the sentence of a person convicted by a jury of lying to shield that very President." And Stone will spend the next four months campaigning for Trump's re-election. Those crooked, corrupt, amoral, unethical, good ol' white boys certainly do stick together!

Analysis: Donald Trump's commutation of Roger Stone's sentence is even worse than it looks

In the kingdom of Donald Trump, the Justice Department and the Attorney General of the United States no longer exist to serve the American people. King Donald has ensured that they serve him and only him. He hasn't yet managed to get complete control of the Supreme Court – but he's working on it.

Justice Department appears to be rewarding Trump allies, punishing enemies, legal experts say

As the above story points out, King Donald the First seeks to reward his allies and punish – or silence – his critics. He believes freedom of speech and freedom of assembly apply only to those who love him as much as he loves himself. Today a judge ruled in favor of the First Amendment and against Trump.

District Judge Alvin Hellerstein today ordered the release from prison of Trump's former personal lawyer, saying he believes the government retaliated against him for writing a book about Trump.

Acting upon orders from Emperor Trump, Customs & Border Protection agents (without name badges) are snatching anti-racism protesters off the streets of Portland and throwing them into unmarked SUVs. Trump is threatening to sic federal agents on protesters in other cities, cities that just happen to have Democratic mayors. We know Trump admires dictators such as Kim, Putin, Erdoğan, Maduro and bin Salman. Trump aspires to be just like them. He's succeeding – and we, as Americans, should be very afraid.

Analysis: Trump is calling protesters who disagree with him terrorists. That puts him in the company of the world's autocrats.

Let's all chant: "Lock him up! Lock him up! Lock him up!"

New York prosecutors say Trump investigation extends beyond hush money payments
    CNN, Aug 3 2020 3:23 PM ET

Manhattan prosecutors today asked a federal judge to dismiss President Donald Trump's lawsuit challenging a subpoena for his financial records, emphasizing that their investigation extends beyond hush-money payments and pointing to public reports of "extensive and protracted criminal conduct" at the Trump Organization. Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance's lawyers have previously said the probe is expansive and today they pointed out that when the subpoena was issued, "there were public allegations of possible criminal activity at Plaintiff's New York County-based Trump Organization dating back over a decade."

The district attorney's office added that Trump's lawyers are relying on a false assumption that the investigation is limited to hush-money payments made to two women during the 2016 Presidential campaign who alleged affairs with Trump. Vance is investigating other transactions that go beyond the hush-money payments.

The Washington Post keeps track of all the lies, exaggerations and false statements spewed by Donald Trump since he's been in office. On July 9, the number reached 20,000. During the past 12 months, he's averaged 23 lies a day. Today a reporter called him out on one of his oft-told lies. Rather than admit he lied, our childish, immature "leader" felt he was being picked on and walked away. Sad!

Trump walks out of news conference after reporter asks him about Veterans Choice lie he's told more than 150 times
    CNN, Aug 8 2020 8:33 PM ET

President Donald Trump abruptly ended a news conference today after a reporter challenged him on a lie about veterans health care he has told more than 150 times. Trump, speaking at his Bedminster, New Jersey golf club, had claimed again that he is the one who got the Veterans Choice program passed, adding, "They've been trying to get that passed for decades and decades and decades and no President's ever been able to do it and we got it done." In fact, former President Barack Obama signed the Choice program into law in 2014. The law, which allowed eligible veterans to be covered by the government for care provided by doctors outside the VA system, was a bipartisan initiative spearheaded by two senators Trump has repeatedly criticized, Bernie Sanders of Vermont and the late John McCain of Arizona. What Trump signed was a 2018 law, the VA MISSION Act, that modified and expanded the eligibility criteria from the Choice program. Rather than tout that bill, Trump has claimed over and over that he created Veterans Choice itself after others had failed for "50 years."

"Why do you keep saying you passed Veterans Choice?" CBS News White House correspondent Paula Reid asked Trump at the news conference, during which Trump announced executive actions on coronavirus relief. As Trump tried to call on another reporter instead, Reid continued, "You said you passed Veterans Choice. It was passed in 2014. It was a false statement, sir." Trump paused, then responded: "OK. Thank you very much, everybody." He then walked away as the song YMCA played. Trump had either never or almost never been challenged on the Veterans Choice claim before Reid did so.

At a 2016 rally in Albany, Presidential candidate Donald Trump declared, "We’re going to win. We’re going to win so much, you’re going to be so sick and tired of winning, you’re going to come to me and say, 'Please, Mr. President, we beg you, sir, we don’t want to win anymore. It's too much. It's not fair to everybody else.' And I’m going to say 'I'm sorry, but we’re going to keep winning, winning, winning." Yeah, right. Here are the latest examples of Donald Trump losing, losing, losing:

The exodus continues. Another Donald Trump lap-dog is leaving the White House. Blindly loyal Trump supporter Conway and her anti-Trump husband both cite a need to focus on their four children.
