Donald Trump did more than just change a hurricane map, writes Los Angeles Times columnist Steven Schwinn. Trump sought to change reality, just as he's tried to change reality regarding Muslims, migrants, asylum seekers, climate change and many other issues. Trump sees his power as absolute, with no restraints, no limitations and no checks and balances. That, warns Schwinn, is a danger we can not ignore.

Emperor Trump revealed yesterday that he had planned to hold a "peace negotiation" today with Taliban leaders at Camp David but called it off after a US soldier and 11 others were killed in a Taliban attack in Kabul. The Taliban shielded 9/11 mastermind Osama bin Laden – and Trump was making secret plans to bring them to Camp David? Is he nuts? Oh. Yes, yes he is. And now let's look at a Trump tweet from 2012:

Since becoming Emperor of the United States, Trump has sent out an average of ten tweets per day. The majority are attacks on Democrats, the news media and anyone who dares to criticize him. His latest targets are "boring musician" John Legend and "filthy mouthed" Chrissy Teigen. Trump is 73 but he acts like he's 10.

In Trumpworld, when the Emperor lies – which is almost every time he opens his mouth – the Emperor's subjects are expected to be blindly loyal. If they don't tell their own lies to support the President's lies, they are threatened with firings. Our nation and our democracy can not survive another four years of Emperor Trump. Four hundred twenty days till Election Day.

Commerce Chief threatened firings at NOAA after Trump's Dorian tweets, sources say
The New York Times, Sep 9 2019 4:40 PM ET

Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross threatened to fire top employees at NOAA on Friday after the agency's Birmingham office contradicted President Trump's claim that Hurricane Dorian might hit Alabama, according to three people familiar with the discussion. That threat led to an unusual, unsigned statement later that Friday by the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration disavowing the office's own position that Alabama was not at risk. The reversal caused widespread anger within the agency and drew criticism from the scientific community that NOAA, a division of the Commerce Department, had been bent to political purposes.

Hurricane Dorian devastated the Bahamas. There are 45 confirmed dead, hundreds missing and 70,000 homeless. Emperor Trump does not want to allow Bahamians to seek refuge in the United States unless they have "totally proper documentation." He says there are "drug dealers" and "very bad people" among them. He made similar comments about Mexicans and Muslims. Yes sir, that Donald Trump is all heart.

Trump claims Bahamians seeking refuge in the wake of Hurricane Dorian need 'totally proper documentation' to enter US

Lying. Having affairs and making hush-money payments. Lying. Holding secretive meetings with Putin. Lying. Hiring illegals to work at his resorts. Lying. Separating migrant children from their parents. Lying. Insulting world leaders and our allies. Lying. Constantly attacking the news media. Lying. Mishandling classified intelligence. Lying. Inviting terrorists to Camp David. Lying. Altering a hurricane map. Lying. Stealing from the military so he can build the Trump Wall monument to himself. Lying. And Emperor Trump's blindly loyal supporters continue to worship him. Why?

It's nearly impossible to track all the scandals swirling around Trump

The exodus continues. Emperor Trump insists the White House is not in chaos and is a "smooth-running machine." He now has to appoint a new National Security Adviser, his fourth in less than three years. Smooth!

Emperor Trump's galaxy-sized ego prevents him from acknowledging that not everyone loves him as much as he loves himself. Thus, if a poll says his approval rating is low, well, the poll is fake. It has to be. The Emperor has spoken!

At one point, Emperor Trump referred to 9/11 as "7/11." And of course 9/11 is all about him. Welcome to Trumpworld.

President Trump sparks anger with 'Never Forget' 9/11 tweet
    HuffPost US, Sep 11 2019 10:13 AM

President Donald Trump drew ire on Twitter today with the way he marked the 18th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terror attacks. Trump shared a photograph of himself and first lady Melania Trump, their backs to the camera, with the caption: "We Will Never Forget." "Except when we invited the Taliban over for a photo op," tweeted attorney George Conway, the husband of White House counselor Kellyanne Conway and a frequent Trump critic.

However, it wasn't Trump's first post of the day. That honor went to a rant about China and his trade war. Critics on Twitter called out Trump's now-canceled plan to meet with Taliban leaders close to the anniversary of 9/11 and recalled his history of making insensitive and untruthful statements about the attacks. In the immediate aftermath of the terrorist attacks, Trump falsely boasted that one of his buildings had become the tallest in downtown Manhattan following the collapse of the World Trade Center. He also made baseless claims that "thousands" of Muslims in New Jersey celebrated the attacks and said falsely that he "spent a lot of time" with first responders at Ground Zero.
