After Omarosa exits her White House position January 20, she will explain her reasons for quitting. Today on Good Morning America, she explained, "As the only African-American woman in this White House, as a senior staff, an assistant to the president, I have seen things that have made me uncomfortable, that have upset me, that have affected me deeply and emotionally, that have affected my community and my people. When I can tell my story, it is a profound story that I know the world will want to hear."

Trump's approval rating has reached a new low -- and among women, of whom he once declared that "no one has more respect for women than I do," his approval rating has dropped to 24%.

Most Americans surveyed in a new poll do not agree with the squawking parrot's cries of "Fake news! Fake news! Fake news! Witch hunt! Witch hunt! Witch hunt! Awwwkkk!" Sixty-three percent of respondents said Trump has tried to impede or obstruct the investigation into Russian election meddling and potential ties to his campaign. Forty percent said he has committed a crime and 32% said he has at least done something "unethical."

Mueller will be checking them twice and finding out who's naughty or nice.

Mueller has obtained 'tens of thousands' of Trump transition team emails

Republicans are complaining that the Mueller investigation has cost $7 million so far. In 1998 the GAO estimated that Kenneth Starr's three-year investigation of Bill Clinton cost almost $30 million -- in 2017, more than $42 million, adjusted for inflation. But of course that was different. And here is something that I daresay nobody saw coming:

Former US attorneys, GOP officials come to Mueller's defense
The Associated Press, Dec 22 2017

More than 40 former U.S. attorneys and Republican and conservative officials are pushing back against efforts to discredit the special counsel investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election. In a pair of letters to President Donald Trump, the groups say Robert Mueller and his team must be allowed to continue their work, unimpeded.

The 22 former U.S. attorneys, who served under presidents from Richard Nixon through Barack Obama, say it is "critical" to the "interests of justice and public trust to ensure that those charged with conducting complex investigations are allowed to do their jobs free from interference or fear of reprisal," adding that seeking Mueller's removal "would have severe repercussions for Americans' sense of justice here at home and for our reputation for fairness around the world."

Another letter signed by 22 Republican and conservative former members of Congress and other top U.S. officials says efforts to discredit Mueller's work "undermine the institutions that protect the rule of law and so our nation."

The situation in Washington DC is getting so toxic, hardly anyone wants to work alongside the Republicans.

Lawmaker calls Trump's Twitter attack on FBI's deputy director a 'gift' to Mueller
    Geobeats, Dec 25 2017 3:07 PM

Democratic Representative Ted Lieu of California, responding to President Trump’s recent tweet attack against FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, wrote on Twitter today, "Trump has tweeted quite a bit about career FBI official Andrew McCabe, who could be called as a witness against Trump in an Obstruction of Justice case. Trump’s Twitter feed is the gift that keeps on giving. Merry Christmas, Robert Mueller.”

Over the weekend, the president posted a series of tweets slamming McCabe. One said, "How can FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, the man in charge, along with leakin’ James Comey, of the Phony Hillary Clinton investigation (including her 33,000 illegally deleted emails) be given $700,000 for wife’s campaign by Clinton Puppets during investigation?" Another said, "Andrew McCabe, in addition to his wife getting all of this money from M (Clinton Puppet), he was using, allegedly, his FBI Official Email Account to promote her campaign. You obviously cannot do this. These were the people who were investigating Hillary Clinton."

As the Washington Post explains, "McCabe holds a unique position in the political firestorm surrounding the FBI. He was former director James B. Comey’s right-hand man, a position that involved him in most of the FBI’s actions that vex President Trump and in the investigation of Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server while secretary of state."

McCabe has repeatedly been criticized by the president and congressional Republicans in the recent past. Many intelligence officials have expressed their growing concern over Trump’s attacks on the FBI. Axios notes, "Trump is attacking senior FBI officials at a time when the bureau is working hand-in-hand with Robert Mueller, a former FBI director, on the Russia probe."

And Trump, as usual, sent out idiotic tweets filled with falsehoods. As the Los Angeles Times noted, "McCabe's wife, Jill, did not get $700,000 in donations from Clinton for a Virginia state Senate race in 2015. The money came from Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe's political action committee and the Virginia Democratic Party and was donated before McCabe was promoted to deputy director and assumed a supervisory role in the Clinton email investigation."

Mueller reportedly zeroing in on Trump campaign's data operation, RNC
    Business Insider, Dec 27 2017 3:29 PM

Special counsel Robert Mueller has reportedly begun to question Republican National Committee staffers about the party's digital work with the Trump campaign last year. Mueller may be homing in on yet another facet of Russia's election interference — its social media influence campaign and targeted political advertising. Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner managed the Trump campaign's data operation and recently hired a crisis public relations firm to handle all press inquiries.

Another idiotic tweet from Donald Trump: "In the East, it could be the COLDEST New Year’s Eve on record. Perhaps we could use a little bit of that good old Global Warming that our Country, but not other countries, was going to pay TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS to protect against. Bundle up!"

My favorite response on Twitter came from Joe Fitrzyk: "You don’t know the difference between weather and climate. Climate Change describes long term impact while weather is a temporary unpleasant condition like your presidency."
