Donald Trump was acting like a playground bully – and it was Americans, not Chinese, who wound up paying for his punitive tariffs.

WTO finds Washington broke trade rules by imposing tariffs on China
    Reuters, Sep 15 2020 7:33 AM

The World Trade Organization found today that the United States had breached global trading rules by imposing multi-billion dollar tariffs in President Donald Trump's trade war with China, a ruling that drew anger from Washington. Washington says tariffs it imposed two years ago on more than $200 billion in Chinese goods were justified because China was forcing companies to transfer technology and intellectual property. But the WTO's three-person panel said the US duties broke trading rules because they applied only to China and were above maximum rates agreed to by the United States. Washington had not then adequately explained why its measures were a justified exception, the panel concluded.

Trump said we should all have to pay taxes. He neglected to add, "Present company excepted."

Trump in 2011 said lower-income Americans should have to
pay taxes to 'be a part of the game' and said he paid 'a lot'

The comments are resurfacing after The New York Times reported Trump paid
no federal income taxes whatsoever in 10 out of 15 years beginning in 2000.

A sitting President can not be indicted. So says the Department of Justice. If Trump is not re-elected, I think we all know what to expect on January 21.

Of course Donald "I-Will-Release-My-Taxes" Trump is filing an appeal with the Supreme Court. We already know he's a liar, a fraud, a con man and a tax evader. He's now trying to keep us from finding out specific details of his criminal activities.

Manhattan prosecutor can obtain Trump's tax returns, court rules
    Reuters, Oct 7 2020 6:44 AM

A federal appeals court today said Manhattan's district attorney can enforce a subpoena seeking Donald Trump's tax returns and other financial records for a criminal probe into the President and his businesses. In a 3-0 decision, the 2nd US Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan rejected the Republican president’s claims that the subpoena was overly broad and amounted to political harassment by Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance, a Democrat. "The President has a difficult burden and an unenviable task: to make plausible allegations that could persuade the court that the subpoena that has been served on him could not possibly serve any investigative purpose that the grand jury could legitimately be pursuing," it wrote. "His complaint fails to do so."

Racist, bigoted, white nationalist Donald Trump refuses to denounce neo-Nazis, the Ku Klux Klan, the Proud Boys and other right-wing militia groups. Whenever he is asked to do so, he invariably gives the same response. The danger, he insists, is not from right-wing terrorists but rather from left-wing terrorists. Nope, sorry, Donald. You are wrong. Case in point:

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer links kidnapping plot to Trump's hate rhetoric
    HuffPost, Oct 8 2020 4:32 PM ET

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer drew a strong line between an alleged plot to kidnap her and the rhetoric of President Donald Trump, whose recent comments have been interpreted by right-wing militia groups as encouragement. "Just last week, the President of the United States stood before the American people and refused to condemn white supremacists and hate groups," Whitmer, a Democrat, said at a press conference today. When leaders "encourage or fraternize with domestic terrorists, they legitimize their actions and they are complicit," she added.

Six men involved with a militia group called Wolverine Watchmen are facing federal charges of conspiracy to commit kidnapping and an additional seven people are facing state charges in connection with the alleged scheme. The men wanted to "storm" the state Capitol in Lansing with 200 men to take hostages including the Governor, court documents say.

Donald Trump and the Republicans have stacked the Supreme Court with conservative, pro-Trump justices who will do Trump's bidding. The Supreme Court, same as the US Attorney General, the Department of Justice and the Postal Service, now exist solely to serve Donald Trump – and who cares about some silly old Constitution?

Trump's "unmasking" conspiracy theory has turned out to be another untrue un-conspiracy. Fake news.

Fox News portrayed it as one of the biggest scandals in American history. Then it fell apart.
    CNN, Oct 14 2020 2:32 PM ET

It was a conspiracy that Fox News portrayed as one of the greatest – if not the greatest – political scandals in American history. Tucker Carlson called it a "domestic spying operation" that was "hidden under the pretext of national security." Laura Ingraham characterized top Obama administration officials as having been "exposed." And Sean Hannity flatly declared it to be the "biggest abuse of power, corruption scandal" the country had ever seen. That was back in May. This week, however, the conspiracy theory collapsed when a Justice Department investigation into the supposed scandal quietly ended with no charges.
