Singer/guitarist Stephen Perry (who used the stage name Lizzie Grey) recorded two albums as a member of heavy-metal band London and 13 albums as a member of glam-rock band Spiders & Snakes (originally known as Ultra Pop). London, formed in 1978, included Nikki Sixx. He and Perry wrote Public Enemy #1 but the band never recorded it. Sixx left London in 1980 and founded Mötley Crüe, who recorded the song for their debut album. Perry died overnight in a Las Vegas hospital from complications of Lewy body disease. He was 60.

Nicky Wonder (Nick Walusko) toured with Brian Wilson and played on several albums by Brian and the Beach Boys, including No Pier Pressure, which this Rolling Stone story misspells as No Peer Pressure. For shame!

Clarinetist Jim Cullum founded the Happy Jazz Band in 1962 and a year later co-founded The Landing, a jazz club in San Antonio. Cullum died in 1973 and his son, who plays cornet, took over the band, renaming it the Jim Cullum Jazz Band (which is not very imaginative). From 1981 to 2012, they performed regularly at The Landing and beginning in 1987 they were heard each week on the Riverwalk Jazz program which was broadcast live from The Landing and heard on more than 200 radio stations. They also appeared frequently on Austin City Limits. The Jim Cullum Jazz Band has released 21 albums.
