She released 39 singles and 14 albums and is best known for her 1957 pop and country hit Dark Moon. The Germs formed in Los Angeles in 1976. The punk-rock band released only two singles and one album (GI, produced by Joan Jett) before disbanding in December 1980 after lead singer Darby Crash (Jan Beahm) committed suicide. Joined by new lead singer Shane West, the Germs reunited in 2007 and toured for three years.
