The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas opened on Broadway in 1978 and ran for 1,584 performances. It was nominated for nine Tony awards and won two: Best performance by a featured actor in a musical (Henderson Forsythe) and best performance by a featured actress in a musical (Carlin Glynn). And how much longer are we going to keep separating actors by sex? "Actresses" are actors too, y'know!

Carol Hall, composer-lyricist of The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas, dies at 82
Hall received two 1978 Drama Desk Awards for her work on the hit Broadway musical.

Bluegrass band Railroad Earth formed in January 2001, taking their name from Jack Kerouac's October In The Railroad Earth, a short story about his experience working as a brakeman for the Southern Pacific Railroad in 1953. The band has released seven albums and an EP and on two occasions headlined shows at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado. Their second show was released on a DVD, Live At Red Rocks. Goessling sang and played acoustic guitar, electric guitar, steel guitar, banjo, dobro, mandolin, flute, clarinet, saxophone and pennywhistle -- but not all at once.

"I forgot my cell phone." "You wanna go back and get it?" That's pretty much the only dialogue in Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle that isn't too dirty for me to quote here.
