Only 40% of Americans approve of Trump's handling of taxes and trade negotiations. A mere 17% say they received a tax cut and a majority say they are not benefiting from Trump's trade policies. Trump likes to take credit – sole credit – for a strong economy and stock market gains but his overall popularity remains at 38% while (as the Democratic candidates keep pointing out) the rich keep getting richer and the poor keep getting poorer.

Bernie Sanders' promises of free college, free healthcare, free Internet, free medicine, free lunches and free almost-everything-else aren't helping him any. In three new polls, his numbers are plummeting. Perhaps his "Feel the Bern" slogan should be changed to "Crash & burn."

During the 2016 Presidential race, Donald Trump ruthlessly attacked his opponents. He said Ted Cruz is a "liar" with a "mental problem." He said Ben Carson has a "pathological disease." He said Jeb Bush is "low-energy." He called Hillary Clinton "crooked," said she should be "locked up" and declared, "Honestly, I don't think she's all there." We can expect the same nasty "seek-and-destroy" tactics from the Trump campaign in 2020.

As a member of the Senate, Joe Biden opposed forced busing and worked alongside two segregationist Democratic Senators. Biden's critics are now falsely claiming Biden praised the segregationists and opposed all busing. Biden, who does not want to lose the support of African-American voters, is trying to set the record straight.

What goes up – the number of Democratic Presidential candidates – must come down. California Congressman Eric Swalwell will abandon his campaign and run for re-election. His "I will be bold without the bull" just might be the worst campaign slogan in history.

Pete Buggigieg's campaign raised $24.8 million in April-May-June. Joe Biden's campaign raised $21.5 million. In third place is a candidate who is refusing to host closed-door fundraisers and refusing to accept money from PACs, Washington lobbyists and wealthy donors. Warren's campaign is 100% grass-roots-funded. What a concept!

Kamala Harris is a skilled prosecutor. She knew when she told Joe Biden "I do not believe you are a racist," many Americans would immediately start wondering if he indeed is a racist. You're on the campaign trail now, Kamala, not in a courtroom. You don't need to show "reasonable doubt" regarding Biden's civil rights record.

Joe Biden's wife says he is not a racist – and she knows him much better than Kamala Harris does. And why is Harris attacking a member of her own party anyway? Biden told CNN last Friday it would be "great" to have a female President or Vice President. There has been speculation that he will choose Harris for his running mate if he wins the Democratic nomination. As the old country expression goes, wouldn't that knock your hat in the creek!

On January 9, billionaire and former hedge fund manager Tom Steyer told reporters in Des Moines that he will not run for President. Rather, he will focus on his grass-roots campaign to impeach Donald Trump. That was then, this is now.

Americans have the right to shop, or not shop, at whatever stores they choose. It is a blow to Emperor Trump's enormous ego that some shoppers have decided to boycott The Home Depot because the billionaire co-founder is donating to Trump's re-election campaign. The Tweeter-In-Chief is angry with those whom he calls "vicious and totally crazed" Democrats for exercising their right to no longer shop at The Home Depot and he praised the "patriotic" co-founder for "contributing to your favorite President, me!" Yes sir, Trump has an ego as large as the universe.
