Kardashian and West donated $400,000 to relief agencies and $100,000 to a firefighter whose home had burned down. Several celebrities have made huge donations. How nice it would be if other celebrities started thinking "Those people aren't going to show me up" and then made even larger donations.

Aaron Rodgers was born in Chico, the city just west of Paradise, and played football with Butte Community College's Roadrunners and UC Berkeley's California Golden Bears before being drafted by the Packers in 2005. And I just became a huge fan of Aaron Rodgers.

The Camp fire is now 85% contained after burning 153,000 acres (239 square miles). Eight hundred thirty volunteers will spend their Thanksgiving looking for remains of fire victims.

As much as four inches of rain fell Wednesday night and Thursday in the mountains east of Paradise where the Camp fire continues to burn. The blaze is now 95% contained and 84 are confirmed dead. The Sacramento Bee headline has five words starting with "c." It sounds like something I would have written.

Thanks to the efforts of more than 1,300 firefighters coupled with the recent rainfall, the Camp fire is almost out but 475 people are still unaccounted for. If they perished in the fire, their remains will likely never be found. The best we can hope for is that many of those 475 are now living elsewhere and are unaware they've been reported missing.

Today, on the 16th day it has been raging, the Camp fire was finally contained after burning 153,336 acres (240 square miles). The official death toll is 86 but the actual number of victims is likely more than 500. Estimates of the fire's damage range as high as ten billion dollars. Yikes!

Officials have found the remains of 88 victims of the Camp fire and confirmed that 2,700 people reported missing are still alive. Two hundred three people are still unaccounted for and searchers are now finding little more than bone fragments. DNA samples are being extracted from the bones in the hope they can be matched with DNA from living relatives or from any of the 88 victims. And here is today's winner of the "Nice Guy'" award:

Several thousand residents of Paradise signed up to receive telephone calls from the CodeRed warning system in the event of an emergency. For many, the emergency came but the calls did not. More than a hundred people are still missing. I wonder how many wound up dying because they didn't get the evacuation order.

At the Chico Mall, Santa Claus feels helpless and saddened. Children are asking him for toys, video games, cell phones.....and new homes to replace the ones that burned down. At least there is a tiny bit of good news today: The number of people missing and unaccounted for is down to 25.

Only six people remain missing in the aftermath of the Camp fire. The death toll has been revised downward to 85. Here is a story about Madison, a loyal, faithful dog who miraculously survived the fire and then continued to guard the property where his owners' house once stood:
