I have a theory and I think it's valid: Those who are not athletic and do not play any sports stay home and call in to radio programs to talk about sports. SiriusXM made this announcement today:

CBS Sports Radio channel to debut on SiriusXM February 21

CBS Sports Radio and SiriusXM today announced that CBS Sports Radio's programming lineup will be available to SiriusXM subscribers nationwide beginning Wednesday, February 21st on satellite radios (Sirius channel 213, XM channel 201) and on the SiriusXM app. CBS Sports Radio showcases popular sports talk shows hosted by Jim Rome, Tiki Barber, Brandon Tierney, Scott Ferrall, Amy Lawrence, Damon Amendolara, Bill Reiter and Taz & Marc Malusis, among others. Two of these programs, Jim Rome and Tiki & Tierney, are also simulcast on the CBS Sports television network.

To honor the legacy of evangelist Billy Graham, who died today (February 21) at age 99, SiriusXM has brought back the limited-run Billy Graham Channel which originally aired November 6-17, 2017 on channel 145 and featured Graham's sermons along with reminiscences from family, friends, ministry team members and former US Presidents. The Billy Graham Channel is back on channel 145 and will air through March 4.

Aren't we getting tired of all these "curated" channels? SiriusXM has channels supposedly programmed by Pitbull, Kenny Chesney, Garth Brooks, Willie Nelson, Jamie Foxx, Ozzy Osbourne.....and even two artists who are no longer alive: Tom Petty and B.B. King. SiriusXM is becoming the musical equivalent of the "vanity press." Here is the February 22 press release:

Dwight Yoakam to launch exclusive SiriusXM channel

SiriusXM announced today that multiple Grammy Award-winner and country music icon Dwight Yoakam will launch an exclusive SiriusXM channel, Dwight Yoakam & The Bakersfield Beat, "Where Country Went Mod." The channel will celebrate the Bakersfield sound and those whom it has inspired including Buck Owens, Wynn Stewart, Tommy Collins, The Byrds, The Flying Burrito Brothers, Eagles, The Blasters, Lucinda Williams and more. The channel will encompass all that is California country and country rock, in all of its various and varietal hybrid forms, from Ricky Nelson to Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt and will also include artists from the movement in LA in the early to middle '80s that Yoakam broke out of and will feature bands as diverse as X, Lone Justice and Los Lobos.

SiriusXM's Dwight Yoakam & The Bakersfield Beat channel will launch in the spring. As a special preview, Dwight Yoakam & The Bakersfield Beat will take over SiriusXM's Prime Country, channel 58, from 5 PM ET February 23 through 3 AM ET February 26.

It's time for "March Madness" -- which also would be a good name for the reaction of soldiers upon being told they'll be going on a ten-mile hike. Here is the SiriusXM press release:

    March Madness on SiriusXM

SiriusXM will offer listeners nationwide comprehensive coverage of the 2018 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship, airing every minute of every game on satellite radios and the SiriusXM app and providing in-depth daily coverage of the tournament on its exclusive 24/7 college sports talk channels. SiriusXM listeners nationwide can hear every game in its entirety from the First Four on March 13 and 14 through the Final Four and national championship game in San Antonio on March 31 and April 2. Tournament match-ups and SiriusXM channel assignments are available at www.siriusxm.com/collegebasketballschedule

At first I thought "Diplo" was a brand of tiny construction blocks. Then I realized I was confusing "Diplo" with "Duplo." Diplo is the stage name of DJ/rapper/producer Thomas Wesley Pentz. Here is today's press release from SiriusXM:

Diplo to produce his own exclusive SiriusXM channel

SiriusXM announced today that Grammy award-winning producer and DJ Diplo will launch his own radio channel, Diplo's Revolution, exclusively on SiriusXM channel 52 and through the SiriusXM app. The channel, which will launch on Thursday, March 22, will feature global rhythmic music hand-selected by Diplo as well as regular original shows hosted by Diplo, Dillon Francis and Major Lazer members Jillionaire and Walshy Fire. Diplo's Revolution will also showcase the biggest songs in global, hip-hop, experimental and underground dance culture.

The channel will air live festival coverage from the most important electronic music festivals around the world including Ultra Music Festival, Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas and more. In addition to championing the diverse and eclectic musical tastes that have put Diplo at the forefront of music and pop culture, Diplo's Revolution will also include songs from his solo projects, Major Lazer, Jack Ü and further upcoming collaborations.

SiriusXM online channel 359, the Canada-based Americana channel, has dropped the name Routes Radio and rebranded as North Americana. The logo says NORTH AMERICANA -- America and Canada, get it?

In the past four months, 32 scam phone ads have been posted on Sirius Buzz. Each one has come from a different "new member": 32 different screen names. Today we have another new member, Yajaira, who has posted a link to an online gambling site. This thread is for discussions of SiriusXM programming and Sirius Buzz is a site for discussion in general. The above link and bizarrely worded sentence were posted by a scammer using this site for free advertising and should be ignored.

Here is the April 2 SiriusXM press release -- and if I haven't lost count, Trisha's program is the 547th SiriusXM show to be called "exclusive."

Trisha Yearwood to host exclusive new show on SiriusXM's The Garth Channel

SiriusXM announced today that Trisha Yearwood, Grammy Award-winning country music star, will launch her new weekly SiriusXM show Trisha's Take Five on Monday, April 2. It will air on Garth Brooks' exclusive SiriusXM channel, The Garth Channel. Each week Trisha will handpick a new four-song theme and then invites listeners to choose the fifth track. The series will kick off with the premiere theme of "Auto-Pilot," with Trisha selecting songs including Little Red Corvette by Prince and Fast Car by Tracy Chapman among her favorites. Trisha's Take Five will air Mondays at 5 pm ET on The Garth Channel, SiriusXM channel 55 and through the SiriusXM app. The weekly show will rebroadcast on Wednesdays at 1 pm ET, Fridays at 9 am ET, Saturdays at 3pm ET and Sundays at 8 pm ET.
