    "Jumbled" Reception

I have been a subscriber for over 10 years. I am using a Sirius Stiletto 100.
For the first time ever, starting yesterday, I've been getting weird noise. The signal sounds great for a short while (maybe a minute), then I get a burst of "jumbled" noise for about 10 seconds.

The best way to describe it is.... I can still hear the station a little, but there is stuttering high pitched digital sounding noise. Kind of like back when CD's used to get stuck with repeated skipping.

It is certainly not analog noise like FM station interference, it is a digital thing.

So I hooked up another antenna, same thing.

I do not EVER get a signal dropout.

I tried 4 different channels, some sports, some music, and Howard 100. same result.

I set up a recording, same result was recorded.

My antenna is an indoor/outdoor antenna, on the roof of my house, with absolutely no signal obstruction, like I said, NEVER a dropout.

Is there anything going on? Unfortunately, I do not have a second radio to try out.
Well...... thinking.. I might have a really old one in my closet. If I can get the demo channel, I can try it.

Sounds like the hardware is dying. Most stiletto 100's are already dead.

Does this issue happen when you listen live or a recording?

    Both live and recorded.

I though Sirius had a demo channel?
I hooked up my ANCIENT Sportster, but no channel actually had sound without activation.

Just thought of another idea, since it sounds like digital interference, I will set up the car dock and drive around away from my home/wifi/cell phones etc...

    Check this out.

    Listening to yesterday's Howard recording.

The "noise" only happens on 1 side of my headphones, but which side it happens on is random.

Maybe the headphone connection is wearing out. Or there is a loose wire.

I think the preview channel is 184. They moved it.

Well..... You'd think I would have tried this first....

Pulled the battery, reboot, listening to a recorded Howard now, so far 15 minutes without a hiccup. I think I am alright.
