I've read a few threads about holding options and display buttons while turning the power button on and/or holding it until something shows up on the screen. Nothing... The screen lights up but no dog , dots or text. Any advice?

You should probably provide some details and maybe edit the title of the thread with the name of the actual unit your using so people know what you're talking about. Is it plug and play? Portable? OEM factory unit?
