Google shutting down Songza. Pandora falling on convertible bond offering.

After all this time Pandora EV/EBITDA

    Enterprise Value/EBITDA -61.78

They still can't make money. I am so glad Pandora went public years ago. It revealed the business of music streaming. It will be interesting to see Netflix's EV/EBITDA after their worldwide expansion plans are completed by year end 2016. My guess is they won't be making any significant cash flow either. Very tough business. Market sure loves it right now. They loved Pandora too at one point.

Really interesting to me to watch Amazon Hulu Netflix and maybe YouTube ( YouTube Red?) bid against each other for video content. Content costs are obviously soaring. Costs remind me of the music streaming business. You just can't control them. Too much competition. But the market loves Netflix. My guess is by 2017/18 the market may think differently.

Look at this Pandora chart since the 2011 IPO. Up the ski slope, Down the ski slope. That's what happens when a media company can't make money

After reading all the negative Seeking Alpha articles I have decided to stick with Sirius and not take profits at $5, and if it goes down in a correction add more. I am holding for the next 10 years. Too much growth AND too much negativity built into the stock. Always a good sign

I also see 3 other attractive media stocks right now for the longterm - Comcast, Disney and Charter. I also believe the S&P 500 index is a great investment after a year that it has basically done nothing. Good time to invest in the index. Attractive valuation.

Brandon - It is actually nice to see long term opportunity out there right now. The market has consolidated over the last year and is basically even, creating this opportunity in media and the indexes. Over the next decade I see an easy double or triple in Comcast, Sirius, Disney, Charter and the the S&P 500 index (VOO). That covers the major growth players in Content and Distribution plus diversification with the index.
