What's the difference? No matter what the share price is when it's bought back, his percentage of the company is getting higher without him paying a cent. Yes he gets there quicker at lower buyback prices, but his % is still increasing no matter what the price is. If the price increases now, his holdings are also worth more.....

isnt that true for all stocks in general?

Sounds like they are just trying to prop the stock price up.

He's stealing the company from shareholders. Go figure.

You nailed it. Market doesn't care who's buying back shares.

EDIT: Sorry denco....guess the close was 3.72, up to 3.77 after hours was as high as 3.85...SIRI board announces additional 2b buyback!! BOOM!

Funny how the "chirpers" go quiet when market it is up 620 pts, siri up 3.5% and siri board announces another 2billion in buybacks!!
Sweet!...left the office shortly after the closing bell. Nice little treat to go with my late lunch

Wonder if they came close (no pun intended) to shooting their load with the big down days. Hope they were buying big. I think they had about 600mn left on the previous authorization at the end of Q2. That could all be gone by now....another 2 bn sounds good to me....

The Company will fund the repurchases through cash on hand, future cash flow from operations and future borrowings. They seem to have opened the door for Liberty to possibly participate in their statement of extending their BB. (although Liberty has stated publicly half jokingly not till price is 10$ a share) They spent over 7 billion in the last 3 years if you include dividend & Agero purchase. Balance sheet shows only an additional 2.5 B in long term debt. That tells me with the increase in cash flow they can do it pretty quickly either with or without additional debt.

Funny how the SIRI $4.50 and $5.03'ers go real quiet when the market goes into correction mode. Let's pray auto sales don't start declining. DOH!

Additionally, the revolver was increased and has majority if not all available to tap.
